Deservedly so, too. Question: Did DeMeco Ryans get hosed?

Wow
The comicle can’t even edit AP headlines well.

They Need This Guy Writing Their Headlines
Not a sports article, but the headline is great:

I don't think
The Chronicle budget covers editing, reporting, or journalism.

It's actually
Amazing how total and complete their decline has been since the Post went down.
Why is that amazing? You take away their competition and allow them to control the market, why invest and better yourself when you don’t have to?
Miss-placed Houstonian living and going to school in the wilderness of Wyoming. Fresno St. 28 - Wyoming 35 (2 OT)!!! Hands down best game I have ever been to.
And Brian Cushing
Made 2nd team OLB.
RE: Ryans
He was awesome this year, and choosing between him, Willis, Lewis and Beason is going to be tough. I thought David Harris shouldn’t be there, but hey hey.
The All-Pro team is no comparison to the All-Willis team.

Hard to believe that was Charles Woodson's first AP team...
Always happy to see Andre get recognition as well.
Patrick Willis’ line: 152 Tackles, 4 sacks, 3 INTs, 3 FFs, 8 PDs, and 2 TDs
Ray Lewis’ line: 133 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 FFs, 7 PDs
DeMeco’s line: 123 tackles, 1 sack, 1 FF, 2 PDs
It really isn’t close. DeMeco tackles as well as anyone in the league, but he doesn’t have much after that. In response to your question, my answer is no.
I keep thinking DeMeco will improve his Int numbers.
Because he is in coverage way more than he blitzes, and is usually around the ball. But it never seems to happen.

As far as ILBs go
They usually cover more than they pass rush.
DeMeco: 123 pass rushes, 513 coverage plays
Willis: 117 rushes, 552 coverage plays
Lewis: 118, 509
Beason 69, 513
It’s more reason for a space-eating NT…free up a blitzing backer more often.
To DeMeco's credit...
He had 11 tackles for a loss.
Lewis had 7, and Willis had 8. That, to me, is one of the better statistics for gauging LB prowess. After all, what good is a tackle if it happens several yards down-field or after the runner gets a first down?
As for Willis… He’s a hell of a player, there’s no arguing that. However, his defense spent a lot of time on the field. The 49ers defense played more snaps than all but four other defenses in football, and 75 more snaps than the Texans’ defense. That inflates his tackle numbers.
Stats aren't everything
Naturally the more skilled a player is the less opposing offenses are going to try to get by them so they might be a better player with nothing to show for it statistically. Ray Lewis gets in cause he’s Ray Lewis….and he’ll kill you if you don’t put him on
In Canada our balls are bigger
Answer
DeJesus needs to stab at least 2 bitches if he plans to supplant Ray-Ray on the All Pro roster.
If the Treasury Secretary doesn't have to pay taxes, then why do I?
Tackles are a bad stat
There was an article about tackles a couple years ago. They are recorded by the individual team’s statisticians, many of whom inflate the numbers to benefit their players. For some teams, if you added all of the individual’s tackles, they significantly outnumbered the total number of plays. The Texans were one of the teams noted for recording the least amount of tackles for their players, and this gap most likely makes up the difference between Demeco and the other LBs.

I'm starting to wonder about you.....
I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?
