I guess everyone is just tired of talking about this at this point, huh?

I'vve said this before but...

Kubiak is a great offensive mind.
But he’s not a leader of men.

So, the technical term for my opinion of his head coaching abilities: “meh”

Agreed

So I selected “Unsure”

I’ve heard this before, and I ask based on what, from watching your tv set, leads you to form this opinion?

he gets my approval for one single reason.

first winning season. gotta count for something after the rut we started in in 02

Looking forward to not having an 8-8 year!

by BattleRedHusker on Jan 22, 2010 10:35 AM CST reply actions

Funny thats why

I voted unsure about him. He didnt get us in the playoff, (First time we even came close) and seriously believe in my heart that we are just as good as those who got in this year.

I just really thought we could get it done this year, and looking back we should have.

Voted Disapprove.

Because of the HB pass.

NOT.

by Jordann on Jan 22, 2010 10:49 AM CST reply actions

You know

I kind of feel like telling you that it is the worst decision in history just to spite you for bringing it up, but I don’t have that much spite in me(and that would be an exaggeration of epic proportions).

by nolander on Jan 22, 2010 12:26 PM CST up reply actions

Oh... NOW who's bringing it up???

Not that it wasn’t going to boil down to that anyway. Even though it wasn’t a bad call in the least.

by beefy on Jan 22, 2010 12:58 PM CST up reply actions

My official stance on that play

is that it was a questionable call with horrid execution. (Questionable because trusting Chris Brown to throw on the run when he has never been a QB, not even in HS, reeks of over-thinking or being too cute. Run that same play with Casey at FB and him making the throw and I would say it was a good call.)

I always assumed "You're The Reason God Made Oklahoma" would be some sort of country music diss track. Live and learn, I guess.

by MDC on Jan 23, 2010 11:49 AM CST up reply actions

I agree that the call was questionable.

But that doesn’t make it as bad as people were making it out to be.

by Jordann on Jan 24, 2010 5:45 PM CST up reply actions

True,and...

They did practice it all week. It wasn’t like we pulled him out of the stands and pitched the ball to him.

And yet...

Chris Myers touches the ball on every single offensive play. Does Kubes not get credit for overcoming THAT albatross?

by beefy on Jan 22, 2010 12:59 PM CST up reply actions

No

Myers is another “Denver” guy. He does not get a pass for being saddled with his own choice. But yeah, how does he manage to overcome that?

Unsure

I’m reserving judgment until we see the outcome of the “lessons learned” this season. IMO, this season is not over until we see what actions are taken by Kubes based on the events during Weeks 1-17.

But if we don’t see a change at RB coach, then that’s a deal-breaker for me, and I instantly move to the Disapprove category.

If the Treasury Secretary doesn't have to pay taxes, then why do I?

Jesus… you guys just won’t quit, will you???

The first part of this comment was pure brilliance, Shake. Why the fuck did you have to ruin that with the second?

And to answer your above question, Jordann:

I wasn’t before, but it sure didn’t take long to get me there.

Bacon tastes good... Pork chops taste good.

by beefy on Jan 22, 2010 1:03 PM CST up reply actions

sorry beefy

But when all 4 RBs have fundamental problems with how they carry, secure, or change hands with the football, then the common link for me is the coaching.

And I’m not just going off of any stat lines here (fumbles per carry, etc.), I honestly don’t like what I see with how our RBs handle the ball. And these are things that should be beat into them over the summer…..not worked out during the fall.

If the Treasury Secretary doesn't have to pay taxes, then why do I?

by Shake on Jan 22, 2010 1:12 PM CST up reply actions

Ok, with a little background on it... fine.

I take no issue with that, if that’s what you’ve seen. I just thought the RB’s were being dumbshits, while trying to get extra yards…. which I’m all for, btw. The extra yards part, see? Not the dumbshits one.

Bacon tastes good... Pork chops taste good.

by beefy on Jan 22, 2010 1:20 PM CST up reply actions

Got it

You want them to be dumbshits, and never go for extra yards.

If the Treasury Secretary doesn't have to pay taxes, then why do I?

by Shake on Jan 22, 2010 2:51 PM CST up reply actions

head coach has nothing to do with RBs holding on to the football...

if you base it all off of the run offense then yes I would disapprove, But if everything else looks good…
pass offense, pass defense, run defense, special teams except for K. Brown then the coach has done a good job especially tearing open a 4-game win streak to end the season and get into talks about the playoffs.

Kubiak doesnt carry the rock. yes he screwed up with his assessment of C. Brown but he’s human.

The truth that peoplenever tell you

is that the RB coach is actually the one in charge of coaching personel, not Kubiak.

Underrated comment

by MDC on Jan 23, 2010 11:50 AM CST up reply actions

I put approve,

For the simple fact that he has more wins than ANY OTHER Texans COACH EVER!!! lol… For the most part i believe he did a decent job. yeah Keeping Chris Brown as the Starter chapped my ass more than a hot leather seat when i wear my speedo. The fact he kept relying on Shankapotomus, who up until this year has been a very reliable kicker. The half back pass, was a mixture of a poor time to call the play, and Chris Brown not selling the run, and throwing the ball instead of tucking it. So i blame it on Chris Brown more.

I have felt

in the past in calling for Kubiaks head during the AFC South ass kicking we received. but I also stated that if he brought it together and we finish 9-7 then I will wait one more year.

you have to remember that alot of the people come around solely for the purpose of bitching about the team, so naturally they disappear completely in the offseason.
