Mike Shanahan Makes It Official With Redskins; Kyle Shanahan Reportedly Named Offensive Coordinator
One of Shanahan's first orders of business will be assembling a coaching staff, but first he will interview Washington's assistant coaches to see which ones he would like to retain. Once those coaches are interviewed, Shanahan will launch his search for the best and brightest.
Shanahan's son, former Houston Texans offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, will be the Redskins' new offensive coordinator.
Consequently, your Houston Texans officially begin the search for the fourth offensive coordinator of the Kubiak Era. With word coming out of Nashville that Jeff Fisher has denied the Texans permission to speak with Mike Munchak, the only question is seemingly which coach with Denver ties will be the next OC in Houston.
Best of luck to Kyle Shanahan in D.C. as he reunites with his father. For the latest news on Shanahan The Elder's staff, check out Hogs Haven.

well goodluck to baby-shan!
it will be fun to watch the game between us and the skins next year!
Some people say "If you can't beat them, join them". I say "If you can't beat them, beat them", because they will be expecting you to join them, so you will have the element of surprise.
That's a dick move by Fisher.
Probably more of a Bud Adams move though, I suppose. Yea, I get it. It’s a rival team. But you don’t hold back one of your coaches when he has a chance to take the next step in his career.
I’m really more disappointed because I really wanted him here, but it sucks for him too.
but...
After the loss of Schwartz to the Lions, you cannot expect the Titans lose another coach besides, to ensure their continuity for what they’re trying to do on their end it is the right thing to do.
Say hello to my fast...
I hope they
continue their (lack of) success in 2010.
And VY’s contract extension will deserve a toast.

I am excited...
for you Redskins fans. I think if Campbell is kept for 2-3 years, it will benefit the entire organization. If there is one thing JC has proven is this: he has great football acumen and would be the ideal fit for this transition. Imagine the mobility maximizing talents such as Coles and Cooley. Again, excited for your team.
Say hello to my fast...
Nice Catch
And fixed. Gracias.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

This brings up a question...
I wonder if the Redskins did a formal interview with a minority coaching applicant. Didn’t some team get in trouble a few years ago for jumping the shark and hiring a coach very quickly?
If the Treasury Secretary doesn't have to pay taxes, then why do I?
I think they interviewed one of their DB coaches
from what I heard.

We let BabyShan out of a contract to make a lateral move?
kinda confusing, since he’s not moving up.
I’m assuming we had him locked up for 2010.
But Fisch can’t let his guy go for a promotion.
I feel screwed. But I think 2010 may be better without babyShan. jmo.

out of the horses's mouth.
baby shan did an interview last night, and this is what he was saying. he always wanted to coach for his dad, but he wanted to earn his stripes first, he didn’t wanna just work for him on name alone. so he took a different path, but it was always his intent to one day coach for his dad. when papa shan got fired from the broncos, baby shan said he realized that his dad wasn’t gonna be coaching forever, and he knew that this next stop would be his last. (most likely) he said regardless of the position he had with the current team, if he wanted to coach with his dad, he knew the next stop he had to go. so that’s why he did it. i respect baby shan a hell of a lot more now, having heard him say that. he’s still a really young guy, his wife is about to have her second, and his dad is gung ho about getting started in washington, so he was saying how crazy a time this was for him. i for one, wish him the best!
Michael: It is going to up in Tahoe a couple more days. Maybe you could take a date?
Lucille: How am I supposed to find someone willing to go into that musty old claptrap?
Michael: The cabin... yes! That would be difficult, too.

You never know what will happen in the future
So, at least no bridges have been burned here…
I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?
