Around SBN: NFL Roundtable: Which Draft Pick Is Most Likely To Bust?

After today's practice, Coach Gary Kubiak said that WR/PR Jacoby Jones has a good chance to see reps as a kick returner this Monday.

Whether it's all the reps or some is unknown, but there's now a chance the Texans could start a drive at the 20 following a kickoff.

Good

JJ is a weapon, and we should use him.

Less Slaton returns makes for happier Texans fans

Slaton’s usefulness continues to decrease without an active screen game.

When Slaton gets the ball

I look away

/cry

even just using him on 3rd downs would be great. Why does Rick Dennison hate freedom?

Thank you Durga!

for making Kubiak see some light. I hope Frank Bush is next in your list.

Assmass alone does not a NT make.

I've already voted

3 times for Leach

Also, I voted 5 times to send Andre Davis. Figured that would be funny.

by Amivy on Oct 28, 2010 3:22 PM CDT up reply actions

Yeah!!

What is with putting a guy who hasn’t played all year on the ballot!!! It should be Kevin Bentley as the ST player.

Also, I understand Cushing and Brown not being on the list as they have only played in two of the six games, and statistically, aren’t permanent starters. I hope they show up on the list soon.

But WTF is with selecting three of each position for each conference? Select 3 WR’s, sure. Select 3 FB’s, SS’s, FS’s Why?

Who did all of you vote for at TE in the AFC?

I’m not sure who to vote for, & OD hasn’t put up the Pro Bowl numbers like last year to merit voting for him (yet), and every TE we see gets decent numbers

I would challenge you to a battle of wits, but you appear to be unarmed.

I voted for all the Texans except EWWWWWWW

and no one from other teams.

Assmass alone does not a NT make.

I couldn't justlfy voting for anyone in the Texans secondary

I tried voting for the Chiefs rookie TE, but he wasn’t listed

I voted for the Texans TE

Which one? You mean there are TE’s out there that we DON’T have?! Smithiak better get on that.

Is this more that they've realized that JJ is the better return man...

or is it because Slaton missed time this week with a death in the family?

by Amivy on Oct 28, 2010 3:21 PM CDT reply actions

probably the former

Assmass alone does not a NT make.

by kaizer on Oct 28, 2010 3:24 PM CDT up reply actions

I'm hoping it's a bit of both...

but who knows? The door’s open for Jacoby to show how much of the return team’s woes is on Slaton.

wait... what?

Steve Slaton returns kicks as if he’s going to get fined for going farther than 20 yards. That’s the only explanation for his 1 yard KO return earlier this year.

by grungedave on Oct 29, 2010 10:55 AM CDT reply actions

slaton returns

are reminiscent of the Electronic Football, he moves a lot without gaining ground then hits the floor.

by Ivan A on Oct 29, 2010 11:01 AM CDT up reply actions

he gets fined if

his average return is greater than 20 yards. So that 1 yarder was insurance.
