The Texans' 10-Step: How Houston will fare the rest of the way
Okay guys, since our game isn't until Monday night, I thought today would a good day to see what fans & posters honestly think about our chances to make the playoffs by actually looking at our remaining schedule & picking how the Texans will do. Personally, I believe Houston can go no worse than 10-6 to make the playoffs and no worse than 4-2 in our own division, which means we have to go 6-4 the rest of the way to have a realistic shot. Again, those calculations are minimum levels of acceptability.
With that said, here are the 10 remaining games with my picks (of course barring major injuries) on the Texans' path to the playoffs:
- Colts - L
- Chargers - W
- Jags - W
- Jets - L
- Titans - W
- Eagles - L
- Ravens - L
- Titans - W
- Broncos - W
- Jags - W
The tricky part in all of this is do the Jets and/or Ravens finish with less than 6 losses? If not, then they would hold the tiebreakers over us (if I'm right on my picks). I really think we have a great shot of beating either team so I am really going with the thought of Houston losing four games somewhere along the way & them being the more obvious choices vs. the Jets & Ravens being 100% losses. In the end, the reality is we will have to win our division vs settling for wildcard dreams.
What do you think?

I highly doubt we beat the Titans unless our defense turns it around.
This year they are the best team in our division so far. Which sucks.

What he said.
It kills me to say this, but we could very easily get swept by the Titans.
We need to sweep the Jags and beat the Ravens to have a chance at the playoffs. I think the Steelers and Jets win their divisions, New England takes a wild-card at 11-5, and the other one comes down to a tie-breaker at 10-6. The Texans, Ravens, and Titans/Colts could all be in the mix there.
I don't see the Jets or Baltimore as automatic losses anymore....
Especially Baltimore….we’ll have almost 2 weeks between games while Baltimore comes to Houston a week after a tough Pittsburgh game.
They’re gonna be tough, but no one’s unbeatable….and I actually like the idea of a rested Texans team against Baltimore, I think that’ll help.
I’m sticking to 11-5. I’m all in on this team.

in this scenario
we would win the division bc we beat Tenn and Jax twice and split w Indy so we would be 5-1 in the division

We only win the division...
if we have the better record between the three teams. Of course, I didn’t think the Titans would lose to the Chargers, but if you look at the Colts, Texans, and Titans remaining games, the Titans have the easier trek if only by a little bit. I think we’ll know more about the Texans after tonight. If they can pop the Colts in the mouth in their own stadium, then we can hang & beat almost anyone…

I think the Chargers are better then the Jets

I watch a lot of Eagles football
seeing as I live in PA and my girl is big fan, and honestly, I think that’s a win for us. I know it’s at Philly, but their games are populated with long stretches of time where they look incredibly mediocre. I might be a shoot-out, but I think the Txans win.

Texans win out!!!!
for an amazing 14-2 record mwahahhaah ok now that i have the homerism out of my system… we end up at least 10-6 though i could see an 11-5 siteeation.
I heard Brian Cushing like to do it with girls in a really uncomfortable place and i am not talking about the back seat of a Volkswagen
Go Texans!
Is 10-6 and no playoffs enough to fire Kubiak?
10-6 is not a bad record by far but 9 years without the playoffs? If I’m right only the Saints had more years after their first season without a playoff appearance.
