Captain Of The Tailgate - The Best Thanksgiving Tailgate
If the new section on the left-side menu didn't give it away then the fancy branding does. We've got ourselves another new sponsor/running feature here on Battle Red Blog.
SB Nation has teamed up with Captain Morgan's to drum up some tailgating talk once a week in hopes that you'll buy more rum to help make Sundays much easier learn something that will make you the "Captain of the Tailgate." With the Houston tailgaters regularly being called the best or among the top-five in the NFL, what better blog to do that on than BRB? None, I tell ya.
We've talked Best Drinks, Best Foods, Best Home Experience, and now: Best Thanksgiving-themed Tailgate.
Why am I asking about a Thanksgiving tailgate? Well, Thanksgiving is right around the corner, so I was wondering if anyone here had done a Thanksgiving-themed tailgate? You know what I mean: Cranberry BBQ Sauce, stuffing, grilled potatoes with gravy and/or cheese, a delicious deep fried turkey, and some pumpkin beer or spiced rum. Has anyone done that? I know it's a few days after Thanksgiving, but is there anyone planning on deep frying a turkey before the Tennessee game?
You know what I'm thankful for? The weekly jump to Marisa Miller.

Pumpkin beer
Tastes better than expected in my experience.

Every year around Thanksgiving (This year is Titans game on 11/28)
We deep fry Cajun butter injected turkeys and serve with Grandma’s homemade stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, and of course, guacamole. /drools
Blind fandom is all I got left.
Sweet Mariah
I look forward to the tailgate every home game anyway, but I do believe all this talk of fried, butter-injected Cajun turkeys has taken it to a whole new level.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
What time should I be there?
It’s been a couple years since I’ve deep fried a turkey, but it does come out damn nicely.
A Texans fan. Really. No, I'm not kidding.

We start setting up at 8am in the Platinum Lot
Would love to have you out.

I just noticed
That this blog has not one but two hard liquor advertisements (Absolut and Captain Morgan). It almost makes me think that Texans fans are an ideal market for these companies…

Only in theory
Clearly I can’t speak for everyone else but it’s usually so painful that I myself have moved on to Mind Erasers. Not sure what all goes into one, but it generally does the trick, at least until the next morning. I’m also wondering at that point how much the cab ride home will be and praying there won’t be a paternity test in my future. That would be a joke in the event my wife actually reads this.
Houston Texans - Once again proving it's possible to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
