Texans fans: lets raise the $25k for Andre
I just set up a fund raising fan website for Andre Johnson's $25k fine at http://www.25for80.com
The premise is for us Texans fans, as an act of solidarity, to raise $25k for Johnson's fine in the next 10 days. Everything is live, legit and we are going to be doing a press release sometime tomorrow.
The site uses a verified 3rd party escrow service. I am hoping to use this opportunity as a catalyst to create a wave of fan support to fire up the team.
Watch the video at htp://www.25for80.com for more details.
Go Texans!

Hey, solidarity is great
Personally, I’d prefer to make sure my wife and kids have a roof over their heads. Or give my money to a real charity. Either way, I’m pretty sure the multi-multi-millionaire can afford the hit.
A Texans fan. Really. No, I'm not kidding.

However for those who may lack the fundage..
Is there some other way we can help? I’m all for it. Just f’n broke.

I'm not made of money
I feel like I’m already helping pay this fine by supporting the Texans through normal fandom – buying jerseys, going to games and things like that.
Andre has plenty of money. He gives a lot to charity and this will ultimately go to charity too. I don’t think he is too worried about it.
Knowing Andre
If we somehow came up with the dough he would just give it to a charity anyway and pay the fine himself.
For those who don't wish to actually put forth the money, but still want to support the cause...
May I recommend posting the link of Facebook, Twitter, sending emails, doing anything you can to spread the word? I mean, the response is so, so sad.
You’ll spend $7-$8 for a beer at Reliant, but not $5 to what will, as has been said, become a charity donation?
Consider this, if the Houston Texans fans were to raise even $5k of the fine what does that show the team? What does that show Dre?
Sure, you support the team with your contributions in gear and such, but we’re talking $5. Hell, if nothing else, it’s a Big Mac Meal with Fries and a Coke at McDonalds you miss out on (no this isn’t meant as a fat crack, it’s a serious point to the fact at how little $5 in the whole of a single day really is).
At least this guy has gone out and started something to show his support. Show yours and at least pass the word.
Last but not least, you’d be paying $5 for the best pay-per-view fight that was on regular TV in the last month.
Also
You could donate to a charity in Andre’s name, and the “receipt” could be sent to Reliant. DGDB&D adopted StandUp for Kids as our charity, for example.

Maybe I'll talk to..
My local watering hole mangement. Tons of Texans fans go there (and spend what little blowing cash they have) just to watch the game such as myself. They’ve put on fund raisers before. Seems like a very worthy cause to me.

Since Andre said he's going to give the money to needy kids, I am reconsidering
I think I’m going to contribute.
I got 5 on it.

Although I don't do the Facebook or Twitter thing...
I sent out this e-mail to some of my close friends.
Friends and neighbors, I happen to be a member of a small blog in relation to the Houston Texans. If you are a Texans fan, check it out www.battleredblog.com. I will GUARANTEE you will read some of the funniest (and most expertly analyzed) material you have ever read in relation to Houston Texans Football (or the sport they are SUPPOSED to be playing out there).
But there has been a recent development that I thought deserved special warrant. As we all know #80 was kind enough to donate a little prison style man-love to Cortland Finnegan in the last game. Well, the die hards on this particular blog were so amp’d about this they decided to try and start a donation to pay for AJ’s fine. Primarily for showing us the Texans still had some ass-whoop left in them. Everyone knew that he didn’t need the money and that he would donate it. MISTER Johnson he got wind of it and that’s exactly what he has vowed to do.
If you are a Texans fan, please take a brief moment to check out this website. WWW.25for80.com , (youtube clip is embedded) it explains the details.
Basically, Andre stated that he’s going to give the cash that’s donated to needy kids for Christmas. Doesn’t matter if it’s a penny or a grand. Lord knows that I don’t have any extra green to be throwing around so I’m going to give around $5. I’m also going to try and establish a fund raiser at a local watering hole of mine. It’s for little kids for crying out loud, $5 may be the difference in them getting a present from Santa or not. This campaign will be active until 9 Dec 10.
Yes Bob, I know you are a Colts fan and I don’t care. Just open your darn wallet.
God Bless
