So I was thinking about why the play action pass just doesn't seem to be producing this year like it did last year. I know most of us have been wondering why. I've got a theory.
So in 2008 we had a running game behind Slaton. In 2009 we had basically zero running game behind Slaton and he who shall not be named. This year we have a running stud in Foster who is leading the league in rushing and rushing touchdowns. As we have all noticed the play action just doesn't seem to be following suit when we've got Mr. #1. I think that is because while Foster is a stud he doesn't have the home run threat Slaton once did. In 2008 all Stevie needed was a slight lane and a broken tackle and it was off to the races. I love me some Foster, but I don't think he has that take it to the house at any second running style. What say you?
