Bleach Social: Where Are You Watching Chargers-Texans?

As always, here's a quick primer on the purpose of this weekly post.

Where will you be witnessing your Houston Texans in their attempt to get to 5-3? Reliant Stadium? Your house? A sports bar (if you're in the Houston area, I highly recommend visiting our friends at 360 Sports Lounge)? Share your plans in the Comments below.

That'd Be Sweet, But...

The advertising is strictly gratis and well-deserved. They took care of us on Monday night, and quality sports bars, in a town as big as Houston, are few and far between, so I want to get the word out.

If I wasn’t going to be at the game, I would be watching it at 360.

Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

iPhone reply fail

What I meant to say was that i don’t think that Tim’s whoring himself out again, although I wouldn’t rule it out completely. 360 was an epic venue for watching a game. Too bad we couldn’t find one worthy of the place (run the fucking ball, Kubiak).

Watching six inches from the television...

I want to see Rivers’ tears up close: http://philipriversface.blogspot.com/

And without Gates to throw to, the tears should start flowing early. Whiney sonuva…

From mi casa.

If it were here in San Diego it would be blacked out, so thankfully I can watch it from the comfort of my own home/alcohol/mary jane (damn prop 19 didn’t pass).

360 Sports Lounge is a no-fly zone for me now

The Texans record when David sits on his ass on his couch at home: 3-0

The Texans record when David actually attends the game: 1-1

The Texans record when David watches it from the friendly confines of 360 Sports Lounge: 0-2 (colts/cowboys).

The sheer ugliness of the Texans’ effort when I am at 360 has made my friends ban me from ever watching a game of importance there again. Sorry, owners of 360.

by grungedave on Nov 4, 2010 3:42 PM CDT reply actions

That's Fair

I’d also like to take this opportunity to ban you from ever watching a game at Reliant. I mean, .500 may be good enough for Bob McNair, but it’s not for me. We need wins, so you are to watch all remaining games at your house.

Playoffs, here we come!

Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

I was going to watch the game but my wife is painting our guest bathroom so torn....

1. Watch the zany stylings of head coach Gary Nubiak as he passes his way to another defeat?

OR

2. Watch the paint dry in the bathroom?

Verizon Club Home Side

Will get there two hours early to avoid the abortion they call traffic management and start downing Rum and Bleach heavily so I’m numb by the time Kubiak has us down by 14 points from a passing game that doesn’t work in the first quarter in his “balanced” offense.

I have two friends comming to the game from Isreal

They have never been to a game before but want to get there early and tailgate so I’ll come and show them around but stay outside and tailgate watcing the game in the yellow lot.

I can never attend a game in Reliant again because the seven games I did get to see were ALL losses.
Thats right, I have NEVER seen a Texans win at Reliant Stadium (only in the parking lot)

Antonio Gates may be out

That would be a good thing but since scrubs raped us on monday, i guess it doesnt matter who’s in or who’s out

You are such a good friend that if you and me were the last two people trapped on a sinking boat with only 1 life vest left, i would remember and pray for you every day.

I'll still be in college station

But my sooners could easily lose this game, and that means the texans will win. I’m not gonna watch it. Im dvr’n it and reading all of yalls comments during the game while on the golf course. Can’t take the double stress less than 24 hours apart anymore

This does make me sick

Peyton Manning told Indy reporters this week about the back-and-forth the brothers have when their divisions are playing each other. He was asked if they’ve been able to switch binders on opponents this year.

"A little bit, we do," Peyton Manning said. "Of course after Houston beat us I said, ‘I can’t help you on Houston.’ So he went down there and took care of business there. There’s a lot of thanking each other. Eli thanked me when we beat the Redskins. I know I’m sure the Giants will be pulling for the Colts this weekend. You can compare notes. There have been some new defensive coordinators in the division, so maybe [you’re] not quite as familiar with some of the new schemes.

by AllenOU on Nov 4, 2010 6:02 PM CDT via mobile reply actions

I'll be at the Spot again in Seattle

Because sports bars in Seattle are REALLY few and far between…at least sports bars that I don’t feel like I can fit in my pocket are hard to find.

Seriously, if I ever win the lottery, I’m opening the mother of all sports bars up here, and I will dedicate one floor-to-ceiling screen to the Texans game and the hell with the consequences!

I am a visionary, I am a genius, and now I am angry! Now help me find my pants!

what are our chances of making it into the playoffs with the loss to Indy and the Titans claiming Randy Moss?? i know its of topic but are we now seen as looking from the outside??

by FLASH94 on Nov 4, 2010 8:50 PM CDT via mobile reply actions

No, it's still a three way race

There’s no telling how well Moss will mesh with the BESFs’, & the Colts still have 2 division losses. Texans are 1-1 in the division. So right now it’s still a toss up. If Kubiak & Dennison can get their heads out of their asses & remember how to run the offense, & if the defense can finally step up & make some stops & turnovers, the Texans won’t be out of this race yet

I would challenge you to a battle of wits, but you appear to be unarmed.

I'm flying in from San Diego

I’m a Texans fan. A friend of mine is flying out too, she’s a Chargers fan. My brother and I will be there set up in Texans gear and she’s wearing her Rivers jersey. Where are ya’ll tailgating so we can go by and get her as much shit talking as possible?? I will be talking shit to her all day so I’m sure some real (Houston) tailgating would shock her. Let me know so we can give her as much shit as possible.

I have no idea

Week one I was playing softball for most of the game. Saw the end of third and fourth at World of Wings (WOW) – Cafe and Wingery. Which one of my friends mispronounced once and we keep saying it – Wing-o-we.

Week two I was at FedEx on the 40 yard line behind Texans bench.

Week three I was playing softball again and didn’t see any of it.

Week four I was at home laying on the couch and had NFLN on with their stats screen up, going in and out of hangover consciousness.

Week five I was at Reliant on the 20 yard line on Giants side.

Week six I was at home on the couch streaming the game on my laptop.

Week eight I watched the first half and the Andre TD at home then went to Afterlife 360 where I go to lay low.

As you can see I have no consistency and no mojo at any one place. Games I didn’t see most of 2-1. Games I attended, 1-1. Games at home for whole time watching on laptop 1-0. Games at home for half then bar for other half on national TV 0-1. Fuck it. I’m heading to Atlantic City this weekend.

She gave up that hope a long time ago

My sex life is like the Texans season. Starts out with lots of promise, but ultimately it’s pretty disappointing.

Haven't you heard? We are going 4-12. Give up all hope

and lets talk about who should be our coach next season. What? You want to actually watch the rest of the season? MADNESS!

I want to make them beautiful, but they always turn out WRONG! That one... too fat! This one... too tall! This one... too symmetrical!

by nolander on Nov 5, 2010 11:51 AM CDT reply actions

a bit extreme?

I spent a good portion of last season discussing & thinking about who I wanted as a new kicker in 2010 due the games lost b/c of KB.

But I can multi-task, and also watch the rest of the games and root for the team…even those that I want gone at the end of the season.

If the Treasury Secretary doesn't have to pay taxes, then why do I?

by Shake on Nov 5, 2010 12:07 PM CDT up reply actions

With Kris

you could actually argue you could replace him mid season. Kubiak leaving the team mid season isn’t going to do us any good, so whats the rush?

Disagree

It has been proven on more than 1 occassion that replacing a starting kicker mid-season is almost always a bad idea.
