Thought I'd better say, 'Glad to be here', since I've already been making a few comments on some posts.
I transferred to the Houston area from S. Fla. back in '89. Gave up my season tickets to the 'Mullets' and tried to like the Oilers but that was just to hard. I jumped at the chance to get in with the Texans and been a fan ever since I applied for my PSL's back in Nov. '99.
Since growing up with the 'Fins', I guesss I've been a little spoiled. Though I was ridiculed by my neighborhood friends for rooting for a 'loser' during their 2-14 expansion season, I saw them improve to a SB contender in six seasons. Those F**KING COWGIRLS beat us that first SB, man, Lilly had a helluva a game, but they won the next 2.
I say this only to emphasize my frustrations with the Texans. I know most of you here share my sentiments. I thought by now we would, and actually we should, be a perennial playoff contender by now. Hell, even the second coming of the Browns, as dismal as they've been, made it to the post-season after a few years.
I guess our owner just can't transfer the Midas touch he's had with business to his sports franchise' s sucess on the field. You can't roll 7's all the time, but jeez, Bob, get someone who can at least roll the dice!!!
