Defensive Meltdown Watch 2010
And BAM!, just like that, we're back in the lead for passing defensive suck. Well done, everybody!
Even though Mike Vick could only unleash a 103 QB rating against us, the Broncos' surprising stonewall of Matt Cassel dropped them below us. Yet, that couldn't save Josh McDaniels' job? Things that make you go "hmmmmm." Numbers below the break.
Sadly, we still trail the 0-16 Detroit Lions squad for the worst overall DVOA in the past 20 years (lower DVOAs are better):
| Team | Year | DVOA |
| DET | 2008 | 29.2% |
| JUGGER-NOT | 2010 | 25.3% |
| DEN |
2008 | 24.7% |
| MIN | 2000 | 24.4% |
| STL | 2008 | 23.4% |
For pass defense, though, WE'RE #1!:
| Team | Year | PassDVOA |
| JUGGER-NOT | 2010 | 47.2% |
| DEN | 2010 | 46.1% |
| DET | 2009 | 40.1% |
| JAC | 2009 | 39.8% |
| BAL | 1996 | 38.8% |
Giving up first downs on 3rd and 19s doesn't really help your DVOA rating. Nope. Not at all.
To celebrate, this week's musical tribute is a shout-out to Frank Bush. Couldn't have done it without you, bay-beee!!!!

If I had a million dollars to spare
I would find someone to hack every sports page that lists injuries by team. I would then have this person change the Texans list of injuries. For all defensive players (with the exception of Ryans and Barwin), I would have the “Location” part changed to Vagina.

Well Barwin can hang his head up high
The suck didn’t start until he went out. That may have been early, but at least he’ll have more “swagger” (hate that word) than the rest of our group of underachievers.
Amazing how with all the talent we have, the parts are greater than the sum of the whole. I wonder why that is? Time to shave the bush.
Ok then pick from these
Only one of these groups can go
1 – diles and ewwwwww
2 – kubiak and smith
3 – bush and Gibbs.
I say 2 because that should take care of 3, and because the subjects in group 1 are so fucking terrible, I think they can literally play their way off the team

3!
THREE! 3! TRES! DREI! TROIS!!! 3!!!!
Since someone had long ago astutely pointed out that we have not developed a competent corner I have wanted Gibbs gone. Then this season of lets face 45 degrees away from the receiver to look at the QB while 20 yards away from the line I have started hating him with the hot napalm fire of a thousand suns.
3 goes and we keep this offense. 2 goes who knows what becomes of the only saving grace of this team.

with extreme prejudice! We can actually fix the other two groups, and outperform around their weaknesses.
Uncomfortably numb......thanks to the Texans
Jacksonville's defense from last year is on that list.
And they still beat us twice. This makes me want to throttle Kubiak.
I'll eliminate you like I eliminate gluten from my diet.

It seems to me
We tend to do only slightly better offensively against shitty defenses compared to good defenses. We should be playing well against the likes of the jets, ravens, bears category but completely dominant against the jags, lions, texans category
This has to be coaching related

As the season gets alone we keep sucking worse
Not a good plan
Hoping weird stuff really does only come in 3's
along too
I believe that the Texans need to score 40 points in every game to be competetive because of efense.

Wow
The Broncos are a big bag of suck this year
If you're a fan of basketball, watch a movie called Sonicsgate. It's free, just google it.
Buy HEY! Don't you know?
Their approach is our EXAMPLE in dealing with our team… One of the Comical bloggers that I won’t even bother giving the exposure to, is holding up their midseason firing as an example for Bob McNair.
I’ve got a lot of respect for many of the folks on this blog who sincerely think that Kubiak needs to be fired. I understand their viewpoint and periodically enthusiastically embrace it.
But using the personnel strategies of that jackass in Denver as your template constitutes some of the most questionable application of logic that I’ve seen.

Does Frank Bush get to give an acceptance speech...?
Frank Bush delenda est
I wish.
Frankly, I would love to present the award to him. I’d love to hear him defend this disaster of clusterfuckian proportions.
A Texans fan. Really. No, I'm not kidding.
