Super Bowl: Open Thread

Judging from the poll, it appears the BRB community is split nearly down the middle when it comes to today's big game. Consider this your open thread for sharing your thoughts about all things Super Bowl XLIV as we complete the interminable creep toward kickoff.

If you're interested in reading what other, non-Texans fans might have to say, SB Nation has a mega thread here open to fans from all over the place. And, of course, head on over to Stampede Blue and Canal Street Chronicles to check out what fans of the Colts and Saints are thinking as their squads compete for the title.

Have at it in the Comments. Even if you're at a Super Bowl party, we've got mobile commenting. Here's to a great game.

Thanks, J-Man

One of these days, things will break for us.

BTW—J-Man isn’t a troll, so don’t pile on.

Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

Welcome back from the land of the uber-banned, j-man

You and our own CFHTim are the only ones I know of to receive the throttling violation. :-)

A Texans fan. Really. No, I'm not kidding.

Called a throttling violation

You can google it, but it basically means that, if you are posting on a bunch of different SB blogs at once, they’ll think you are a spammer and boot your ass. That’s how CFHTim broke the Internetz a while back, and j-man did the same thing.

It’s not a bad catcher, really, but it just can’t tell if it’s legit traffic.

A Texans fan. Really. No, I'm not kidding.

hahaha i remember that

That’s when the comments started disappearing!

Good to have him back.

It’s still not as bad as when EHTR italicized the whole thread.

Wow, Tim

Am I going to have to BAN you?

but they do have my boy hartley

by AllenOU on Feb 7, 2010 5:24 PM CST via mobile reply actions

doesn't matter.

at least if the colts win, people will (hopefully) shut up about reggie bust being a better draft pick than super mario

by typhoon.infamous on Feb 7, 2010 6:07 PM CST up reply actions

Who’s still saying that?

Regardless of what Bush does, he doesn’t live up to his contract. Picking him wouldn’t have made an ounce of difference for this franchise.

team with 0 points? yeah, thought so.

Colts D showing up!!

Saints were stopped on the Colts 1 yard line. They missed a 3&1 and a 4th&1.

Love that onside kick call. Damn, that was awesome.

by cubic on Feb 7, 2010 7:24 PM CST reply actions

I like that none of the announcers said a single bad thing about Sean Payton.

The announcers said that Sean Payton has courage for going the onside kick. So if they wouldn’t have recovered it, what would he have been?

I'm suddenly reminded

…of the “Reggie Wayne is better than Andre Johnson” thread from a while back.

by HoustonDiehards on Feb 7, 2010 8:45 PM CST reply actions

I was thinking the same thing.

Andre would never open a big can of quit in the Super Bowl.

Yeah but

Now we have to put up with the Saints band-wagoners. The only thing worse are cowgirl band-wagoners.

by Big T33 on Feb 7, 2010 8:56 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah this is way worse

There are a crap load of bitch bamdwagoners. At least the colt fans don’t live round here.

Here come the well reggie has a ring so we should have picked him crap too

we are sooo cursed

by AllenOU on Feb 7, 2010 8:58 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

I second that.

Im not celebrating the saints win.

Im celebrating the colts’ loss.

Lets see, Reggie Bush did nothing all game and was outshined by undrafted Pierre Thomas, Pieton threw a pick 6 at the end of the game, and Reggie “Im better than AJ” Wayne dropped a TD pass because he was afraid of getting hit. Yep I’d say it was a satisfying super bowl for me. :smug:

I've lived in Houston for 23 years, but was born in Louisiana. I have been an Astros fan my entire life...

but I was born with a bag on my head. Black and Gold runs through my veins. I was curious as to the Texans fans reaction to the game, so I stopped over here. I thought that if there would be any fan base that would be sympathetic to the Saints losing history, it would be the Texans fans.

But the comments that I’ve read here tonight just show a classless representation of Texan fans. Your hate for Reggie Bush is pathetic. It was four years ago. Move on. It’s embarrassing.

I really want to see the Texans do good, but you guys are making it hard to like you.
