Around SBN: Seahawks Trade for TE Kellen Winslow

LeGarrette Blount?

Well i've been thining what if we dont get Hardesty or Ben Tate, I wouldnt mind us getting Blount. I mean is a big back who can punch it in and I dont really care that he punched someone in the face, in fact i like that. Hey he could break Bob Sanders with one hit which i really like. But i dont know if he will fit the ZBS so what do you guys think ?

Sounds good to me

Plus we could probably get him in round 4 or later.

i tell you what

we all where on here or another site doing the draft and was just hoping the texans drafted a rb in any rounds when it was getting late and they did not. Now with that said they went on to have their first winning season. so we all are either morons or we just not as smart as the texans front office. i personally cannot see them not drafting a rb this year but who knows. Blount would be a good pickup but how is his pass blocking and pass cacthing? The way the nfl is going now you might not need a rb. you see indy made it to the super bowl without one. I say lets bring back the ole RUN AND SHOOToffense and just dominate.

AJ and Matt need a break every once in a while

if those two get hurt then were fucked. we just need to run the ball 20-25 times a game

by Joe25 on Mar 27, 2010 10:37 AM CDT up reply actions

sure you can run 20 25

times all of them should be when we are at the 5 yard line about to score. yes they need breaks that is why you load up on receivers.

Its Andre Johnson

hes gonna get open, hes gonna make plays, and hes gonna kick Cortland Finnegan’s ass and somebody has to give him the ball

i am surprise BRB

does not have a name for finnegan or do they? Yes andre will abuse all corners in afc south.

That's when we need the running back to pass

Mixes it up, you see. Confuses the defense.

This would be great

if we also draft Kyle Wilson early

by killtacular on Mar 27, 2010 9:31 PM CDT reply actions

Kyle Wilson at 20, Kyle Wilson at 20, Kyle Wilson at 20...

FS, DT in round 2…
Hardesty in round 3…

I’d be a happy man come Day 3 of the draft.

by TexansDC on Mar 27, 2010 10:38 PM CDT up reply actions

heh

yes, that would make me very happy draft wise, as a texans fan.

But it would also make me happy if Kyle Wilson (from Boise State) was drafted by the same team as Blount (who punched Wilson’s teammate), regardless of who that team was :).

Unlikely

ZBS backs need to be quick

by kozanack on Mar 28, 2010 5:40 AM CDT reply actions

i would take mays

im telling ya’ll, ya’ll sleeping on him.

by southpaw70 on Mar 28, 2010 8:04 AM CDT reply actions

if we didnt have bernard pollard

he would be great but since we have pollard we dont need a SS we need a FS

by Joe25 on Mar 28, 2010 9:57 AM CDT up reply actions

That is what he plays.

He plays FS. People say he his better suited for strong but if someone breaks one i would like to know he is back there to catch them. With the right coach he can turn all those big hits into int.

by southpaw70 on Mar 28, 2010 11:33 AM CDT up reply actions

he may have played FS

but hes gonna play SS or have to gain some weight to play LB plus the guy has what only one Int. Manning is really be scared of another run support safety that he can just throw over.

manning better go ahead and tell his recieviers sorry

Cuz if they come across the middle they getting JACKED UP. Mays had 5 ints not saying much but it was the system he was in. Pretty sure Ray Rhodes can coach the kid a little better.

remember rule changes?

cant hit the WR.

living the Texas dream

by Joe25 on Mar 28, 2010 11:58 AM CDT up reply actions

i know

but i will be ok with one hit for the penalty as long as it is in the first qtr. that way you let them know we can and will might do this all day if we have to. Nothing better then receivers running across the middle all scared.

but hes not gonna stop

that rule screwed us vs the colts. we got hit with a penalty like three times

i heard that pete carroll actually asked him to play more inside the box.

it’s hard to recover your rush defense if you lose 3 of your starting LBs in one off-season, as was the case in USC. i mean, the coaches told him to focus more on stopping the run, that’s why it seems like he can’t cover.

From what I have seen....

The rule is that you can not target a WR (ball catcher) above the shoulders before they make a football move with the ball in possession.

So body shots as they catch the ball or a DB making a play of the ball are all still good. You just can’t take his head off while he is in the process of making the catch. Once he has firm possession, he is a runner and normal tackling rules apply.

Ok let em get this sraight

We cannot hit a defenless player with a forearm helmet or shoulder. Well karate kick their asses then. I would hate to be playing defense nowadays.

Rec'd

…for Bill McNeil / News Radio reference…

The funny thing

Is that you can hit Andre Johnson with all three of those at once, plus a hammer, plus a daisy cutter.

And it still. Won’t. Stop. Him.

All I can think of is the movie

Unnecessary Roughness, with the guys from Chicago Hope as the coaches, Scott Bakula from Quantum Leap as the QB and Kathy Ireland as the Kicker.

They have a one man defense, but he is a black belt in Karate. Its almost as good as watching Patrick Willis.
