Darryl Sharpton Is The Newest Texan!

I for one, welcome our new linebacker overlord in his quest to unseat Zac Diles.  What say you, BRB?  Join him or die, you can do no less.

I dunno much about him.

I never thought to look at ILBs considering who’s our starter.

Interesting that they went LB

Considering the team’s needs at OL and S.

I'll eliminate you like I eliminate gluten from my diet.

ILBs were never on my radar

He seems to be fast and have good coverage skills.

A Texans fan. Really. No, I'm not kidding.

I guess we have to hope they project him as a weakside linebacker.

LenDale White is a Seahawk

Who care?!?

Just your average, run of the mill hardcore casual Texans fan.

Sharpton

Found where he was projected to be a Round 7 or UDFA talent level.

A Texans fan. Really. No, I'm not kidding.

Sharpton is a slightly-undersized, tough, competitive linebacker who has experience playing all three spots in a 4-3. He flashes the ability to be an explosive tackler, especially inside. Has some impressive short area quickness and a great motor against the run.

I hope they move him outside

It’s not like we need another ILB.

he'll obviously be a special teams player

but if he’s good enough he’ll supplant Diles at WLB..which i’m all for.

by leacheatsbabies on Apr 24, 2010 9:37 AM CDT up reply actions

Yeah if nothing else, he can contribute on special teams.

by MadMartygan on Apr 24, 2010 9:40 AM CDT via mobile up reply actions

Alright

I really wanted them to take an lb to compete with diles. If this is their guy then I’ll trust them.

by MadMartygan on Apr 24, 2010 9:38 AM CDT via mobile reply actions

He even has the build of Diles

I think we’re following the Colts philosophy here.

Small undersized but very fast and active guys with high character.

We’ll see if it works out..

I think the Raiders

Are having a good draft….so this guy is Xavier Adibi/Diles 2.0? Ok….sure. Why not.

by JimboTexan on Apr 24, 2010 9:42 AM CDT reply actions

jus woke up

who the hell is this?

by HB23 on Apr 24, 2010 9:43 AM CDT reply actions

Why didn't we get Myron Rolle?

by kmartinez on Apr 24, 2010 9:47 AM CDT reply actions

118 overall

What do we target next? Smith seems to like late round safeties, do we pick one a little higher this time? Or do we address the OL?

by DieselDeac on Apr 24, 2010 9:49 AM CDT reply actions

I vote OL

Pick up Myron Rolle in 6th or 7th rd.

by Calvin Paquette on Apr 24, 2010 9:49 AM CDT up reply actions

I doubt he is going to last that long.

Remember this guy was a top 10 pick if he did not go to Oxford.

Bruce Campbell to the Raiders.

I must say Al Davis is making a lot of good value picks.

Some people say "If you can't beat them, join them". I say "If you can't beat them, beat them", because they will be expecting you to join them, so you will have the element of surprise.

Here is a tweet from Eric Winston on Sharpton:

"Daryl Sharpton coming to the Texans!! We called him “Radio” back in the day. Lol. He is fast, can play SP, and has an extremely hard head."

Sounds like he’s excited.
