Sherrick McManis Is The Newest Texan!

Mcman_medium

I've discovered the perfect pick: people swarm in, empty their pockets, and we wind up with Sherrick McManis after they scuttle off.  Nothing can stop us now -- except microscopic germs.  But we won't let that happen, will we BRB?

On an unrelated note, I applaud the Texans for giving us this name.

My love for these Simpsons references could very well lead me to asking you to do every open thread for eternity.

Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

some durability concerns

NFLdraftscout projected him as a FA and walterfootball as 7-FA.

McManis has the athleticism and aggressive nature to be an effective cornerback in a zone system at the next level. But the hamstring injury that caused him to leave the East-West Shrine Game early and leg injury forcing him to miss time in the 2009 season, in addition to his general lack of bulk, may cause durability concerns among scouts.

Sherrick McManis making an impact...

There is a master key and a spare key for the office. Dwight has them both. When I asked, "what if you die, Dwight? How will we get into the office?" He said, "if I'm dead, you guys have been dead for weeks."

Mayock's line

Mike Mayock, NFL Network
144 — Texans — Sherrick McManis

McManis is a three-year starter from Northwestern with average speed that may project him inside to free safety. He had nine career INTs and adds value in the kick return game. Houston needs depth on the back end of their defense, and McManis is versitle enough to answer several needs.

Steelers always make good linebacker picks.

First Worlids, then Sylvestor. Both are great pass rushers and will be very productive in the 3-4.

I have to keep the faith

It’s hard to see guys like Donovan Warren and Sydquan Thompson on the board while we take Sherrick McManis… we took Graham Garrett over Anthony McCoy and Dorin Dickerson… Rolle is still on the board too.. deep breath… ISWT (In Smithiak We Trust)

Why does it seem like Seattle is making all of the smart picks.

Another fantastic value pick with McCoy.

When the Texans draft a Northwestern Wildcat. I promised I wouldn’t cry…

You got a steal here

This guy is a hell of a player! His coverage is excellent and he has been matched up against the best of the Big 10 since his freshman year. This picks that he made this past season will simply wow you! You can see some of his highlights if you search for NUBears on youtube. I’ll be following him this season and I’m jealous that the Bears didn’t snatch him up! Good luck this season!
