I see signing Neil Rackers as a major step for the Texans this offseason. The way his contract is set up is also an interesting move for the Texans. What does this mean for the Texans? And What does this mean for Shankapotomus?

Rackers play on the Cardinals has been damn decent. Most of you would have already read the stats, so I will not repost them. Cardinals fans are sad to see him go mostly because of his Kickoff ability. He has an incredible pooch punt, and sneaky onside kick. The guy is also not scared to tackle which leads to most of his injuries.

Bringing Rackers in also makes Kris Brown's tenure in Houston quite questionable. While Neil did miss a few clutch fgs in the playoffs that was probably more due to the groin injury than his actual kicking ability. The Wiz of OZ (my new coined nickname for Smithiak) have brought him in with a decent contract to both sides. Rackers gets a two year contract worth over $4 million which is decent for any kicker. It also gives the Texans a cheap out if he is cut prior to the season. The only bad thing i can see is that if Shankapotomus is cut and Rackers gets hurt god forbid, will the Texans have to resign K. Brown and if so will we preform like 09 Shankapotomus, or as 08 God of the FG 50yds and >
