The Incredible Shrinking Texans DLine

I'm sure that the following news won't make bfd happy, but the Texans defensive line has shrunk. This article, written by Jordan Godwin, details the efforts of all the defensive line starters to lose weight. Where do they stand?

DE Mario Williams has lost 10 pounds to get to near the 280-285 ballpark.
DE Antonio Smith has lost 13 pounds to end up near 280.
DT Shaun Cody has lost 4 pounds to stay around 300. Here's our run-stuffing NT, bfd. Shaun freakin' Cody.
Finally, DT Amobi Okoye lost a whopping 32 pounds to drop down to a sexy 286.

Okoye had made it a goal to get down to his rookie weight to pick up that speed he lost. Has it paid off? Well, Lance Z made this observation at OTAs:

"I knew third-round defensive tackle Earl Mitchell was quick but I couldn't believe how quick his feet were during defensive line drills. Mitchell also showed how quick he was off the snap during explosion drills into the blocking sled. However...when Mitchell went up against Amobi Okoye in the "rabbit drill" - a drill where two guys line up on the line of scrimmage and take off after a player who is moving backward to see who can touch him first - Okoye smoked him. It will be interesting if the drafting of Mitchell finally lights a fire under Okoye this year."

So BRB, do you like this potentially fast defensive line? Are you happy to see that the defensive linemen worked hard at getting into shape this offseason? Do you salivate at the thought of quarterbacks meeting their doom at the hands of Mario and his speedy friends? Are you worried that these smaller linemen will be beat any time an OL gets their hands on them? Are you clamoring for John Henderson yet?
