Breaking News: Owen Daniels Signs 1 Year Deal.
Texans re-signed TE Owen Daniels to a one-year, $3.168 million contract.
Daniels has been seeking a long-term deal for a couple of years, but since he's coming off yet another major knee injury, the Texans are wise to make him wait. Daniels may not even be ready to participate in training camp this season. If he can stay healthy and effective for 16 games, the Texans would be wise to take care of the excellent pass-catcher.

So OD is now signed, and should still be a Texan next year barring a trade. We still have Dreesen, Casey, Hill, Graham, and 73 others on the roster. I guess OD will have to wait for next year to get a big deal.

IT is smart on both sides
Owen Daniels was smart to take the deal because it shows the Texans value him, whether they trade him or not… and for the Texans you never know how he is going to play after his third knee injury… Now Andre, will he get a new deal before the season, He definitely deserves a bigger paycheck, but i dont see a new deal till after the 2010 season.

Still don’t think he’s a Texan in 2011.

texans waiving 2 others...
Texans waived DB Aaron Webster.
An undrafted strong safety out of Cincinnati, Webster failed to impress before the Texans began signing their draft class.
Texans waived/injured WR Trey Stross.
An undrafted rookie, Stross hauled in a modest 31 passes for 414 yards and one touchdown for Iowa last season. He never had a chance to make a deep Texans roster, and a recent injury didn’t help.
