BRB On 1560 The Game This Afternoon

David Nuño, not at all intimidated by the thought of dead air/awkward silence/incoherent mumbling, has once again kindly invited me to appear on his show this afternoon. Thus, if you're jonesing to hear Nuño carry me through yet another interview, tune your AM dial to 1560 at 2 p.m. CST today. Or, if you're not near a radio or in Houston, listen live here via 1560's website. If you have any topics you'd like to see covered, throw 'em out in the Comments.

You all know that we're unabashed fans of 1560 here. Their local guys are as insightful and entertaining as anyone in Houston, and they're generally ahead of the curve on all things Houston sports-related. Thus, it should come as no surprise to you that all three (3) of their local shows--John Granato and Lance Zierlein in the mornings, Ken Hoffman and Nuño in the early afternoon, and Sean Pendergast and John Harris on your drive home--will be devoting the last hour of their respective broadcasts every day in July to talking about your Houston Texans and the NFL. This wouldn't be a big deal in September. But in July? While training camp is still weeks away? It's an oasis in the desert that is summer sports talk.

Mark your calendars, BRB. 1560's going to rescue you from all the "where will LeBron land" and/or "when will the 'Stros stop ruining summer" talk. Starting today at 2 p.m. CST, when I start yelling about how Kent Graham could've been the savior of the Texans back in '02.

When will he be shit canned (Nuno and I have had this back and forth, from the “orphan” days at DGDB&D days) from the stations line-up and replaced by BFD? (David Anderson could learn from these ‘blogs" on how to speak to lil’ Dickie.)

Is it me or is LDJA12 more entertaining with his mouth than his pen?

Please, Tim, don’t say anything about Kent Graham. Your credibility will be better of if you don’t bring that up….

How about this. When Slaton and OD are making their comebacks, won’t they come in as backups to the other guys currently stepping in? Who is to say they will ever get their starter-standing back?

How about the rookies? It’s possible that this group of rookies will see a lot of playing time at important positions, CB, RB, DT, ST… This is on a team that is already one of the youngest teams in the NFL.

Okay, the force that is gaining momentum, Jacoby Jones! His role on this team should be one of greater importance this year. Maybe bring some of his Twitter quotes!

I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?

Just for the record,

while LDJA12 bugs me in print sometimes, he’s actually really fun to talk to in person, and I like listening to him on air.

Don’t listen to Rip, Tim! Spend as much time as possible talking about Kent Graham! I just want to see how Nuno reacts.

I'm expecting a detailed analysis on how the LeBron Chase...

impacts the Houston Texans. ESPN tells me that only LeBron matters…nothing else. Not even Farve. I need MOAR!!!!

In all seriousness, probably where the biggest area of concern lies for the 2010 Texans. I know Paul Kuharsky had said division games (after citing LDJA12 saying back-up friggin QB and Solomon saying 4th quarters)….the NFL Network said better start to the season……broad topic, but could provide a joke at LDJA12’s expense for saying that this team’s biggest concern is the back-up QB role…..because he’s a no talent hack.

Or you could read Jacoby tweets, you know…whatever gets listeners.
