BRB Preseason Gathering?
While it's virtually guaranteed to be nowhere near as cool as the SB Nation Houston launch party last month, I'm bullish on the idea of trying to organize another BRB get-together before the season starts.
Anyone else interested in doing this? If so, leave your suggested date(s) and venue(s)--Houston-area, of course--in the Comments below.

I'd be down for Austin!
Considering I just moved here a week ago. I’d definately be willing to make the trip back to Houston for a get together though. As long as I could get off work.

Working on that, Kerns. May have a positive announcement on that front come preseason…
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
Yellow is good by me this year.
In fact since we are both yellow lot guys maybe we can get a regular thing going!

Is Yellow lot the "in" lot?
Planning on coming down for the Giants game and make it a point to tailgate in proper fashion.

The Yellow Lot
is the “party” lot. The other lots, which I visited them ALL last season, are kind of for the people who would rather show off their fancy grills and sip wine than actually party.
Yellow Lot has Grass, free shotguns every 30 minutes, free food all over the place, people handing out jello shots, etc…
To quote Karate Kid: “It’s the best…AROUND!”
orange lot go hard too!
club tailgate and gridiron tailgaters (my two favorite places to tailgate last year)

Isn't that where we had the BRB tailgate last year?
I was let down. But it is probably the 2nd best after Yellow.

There's good parties in all the lots
I’m in Blue, but there’s plenty of wild shit that goes on in all of them….except the Platinum lot. That lot is for all the rich corporate types so they can just show up and walk into the stadium. It’s usually empty until 30 minutes before kick-off. Yellow might have the highest percentage of wild shit…I haven’t been over there is years. It really doesn’t matter where you park though…especially if you are just going to meet up with a group that is already established. Just bring a cooler with wheels.
"Well, at least our players kept their helmets on, so that showed some intelligence"-Bob McNair
I've heard the same thing papabear, but I've been in the yellow lot every year and I enjoy the grass areas
There were one or two games about 4 years when I was forced to another lot on the opposite side of the stadium (purple maybe?) by the Texans. Can’t remember why. Had a good time there too, but still prefer the yellow lot for the grassy areas. They have to be cooler, temperature wise I mean, than the paved areas.
The guy with the 6 way (or is it 8?) competitive beer bong always has a lively crowd. Always fun to check out a few rounds of beer chugging on the way in.
It took the Astros 44 years to get to the Series, the Oilers-Texans are due to get to the big dance...Go Texans!!!!!

Not a Platinum Lot apologist
But I tend to agree with your assessment with the exception of a few great tailgate crews. Some of which I consider the best of them all. /shameless self promotion
This has been a huge problem for the few of us that bring a hard core tailgate attitude every week only to be squeezed out in terms of space by empty spots that only fill up at the last minute, forcing the real tailgaters have to move out of their way. But I promise, if you show up to the first few rows nearest the blue lot, the parties are epic.

Re: Girls
Sure they are. But you professional writers/media types never come to the tailgates. Lance Z and Wexler have been claiming they’d come to a tailgate for 2+ years now. Too busy for us grunts, I guess…
I may actually show for AMR...
Want to get ALL the BRBers there? You just follow through with that AMR. I mean that with all due respect. They will show.

I spend a lot of time in the Yellow Lot and have done numerous video stories with fans out there. I’m pretty sure the Preacher Man has spilled a beer or two on my shoes while attempting to shotgun them.

I was checking out your myspace page
and I saw you have a couple dogs. One of them looked like either a rat terrier or jack russell terrier, with brown markings, named DD? You won’t believe this, but I have a little rattie with the same colors and her name is Didi….thought that was a nice coincidence.

Nick's Place?
The folks at 1560 have their Friday Extravaganza at Nick’s Place. All day. Great food, lots of TVs, and sports talk going on in the background. Sometimes Sean & John have a good turnout, sometimes not, but they always like when people are there. It’s out west a bit, but easy to get to via 59 or Westheimer.
I’m sure they’d get some sort of deal for a BRB fest.
Nick's Place is not bad to get to from most parts of town except maybe far north or far east
I think that would be a good option.
