Your Houston Texans are a Forbes top 10 pro sports franchise
In what the Houston Chronicle rated as front page news yesterday, the Houston Texans were named by Forbes magazine as the 10th most valuable pro sports franchise in the world. Their value is rated in excess of $1.1 billion. Despite their complete lack of substantial achievement on the field, their new stadium, merchandise sales and fan friendly game day experience placed them in the top ten. I found this pleasantly surprising and see it as a great segueway to a playoff spot this year. The article also lists the top individual earners in sports. It is an interesting read.

I posted this and my statement is not a slam on the Texans, it is an accurate assessment
OTD is not just my user name at BRB, it is my mindset. I LOVE going to the Texans’ games. I will always be a Texans’ fan, and real fans are never satisfied with mediocrity. I believe that we are on the right path, but we haven’t gotten there yet.
A single winning season, 9-7 at that, in 8 years is the very definition of lack of achievement. Barring a hideous string of unfortunate injuries, I will not be satisfied with anything less than a playoff berth this year. Making the playoffs will be our first substantial achievement; the first of many we all hope.
It took the Astros 44 years to get to the Series, the Oilers-Texans are due to get to the big dance...Go Texans!!!!!

Very impressive
Bob McNair’s chops as an NFL owner are on true parade right here. Without all the hype of Geriatric Jones and the Cowgirls, the international brand name of Man-U or Real Madrid and the gigantic market of NYC.
Mr. McNair, enjoy a cold one in recognition of your awesomeness. And you better hurry-up on it, BFD’s already taken most the Zimas out.
Let's all chip in and buy them!
I got $10.23 for the pot. Who else?
