Free Agent DE Raheem Brock Visiting Houston Tomorrow
According to Andy Simms, free agent DE Raheem Brock is visiting the Texans tomorrow. Leverage move for Aaron Schobel or genuine interest by the Texans?
h/t EveryHoustonTeamRox!
UPDATE: In other free agency news, National Football Post is reporting that the Texans (along with the Chiefs and Saints) are interested in DT Kendrick Clancy.
UPDATE #2: According to Nick Scurfield's blog, the Texans worked out Brock, Dewayne White, and a third DE (some Tweets suggest it was James Wyche). Before anyone goes into Chicken Little mode, this was not done with any regards to Mario Williams and his hip issue as he upped his practice participation this morning. Scurfield says that Tim Bulman has a shoulder injury and won't be back any time soon.

Leverage move against Mario really being hurt
and sign that they don’t want to pay Schobel?

You've been solid in disputing the Schobel to Houston "rumor"
I get why they’d want a 4th DE for rotation/Mario concerns, but I still don’t get why they’d entertain Mathis. 32, less productive in his career than Schobel…should make for an interesting watch in the morning.
"Lord, beer me strength."
Me either, honestly.
If you really want to be a conspiracy theorist, they might ask him to take his Indy playbook with him?

If they were entertaining Robert Mathis
I’d be doing cartwheels right now :)
But yea, once again, if they don’t pony up the cash for Schobel, I’m going to be angry.

wtf?
get Schoebal in here, hopefully this is simply a smoke screen
Rockets-Texans-Dynamo-Longhorn fan.. used to be Astros too, but not sure there a pro team anymore
I'm not pro or con on Brock
Or pro or con on Schoebel. I think the difference between the two in the Texans eyes might be that:
1. Brock is cheaper
2. They might view Brock as more of an every down player vs. a 3rd down specialist.
3. If Schoebel really does want to come here having Brock in might put a little pressure on him to lower his asking price and make up his mind.

Well...
He was injured last year, but he’s been called an underrated 305 pound run stuffing DT. He’s played in Pittsburgh and New Orleans…that’s the extent of what I know.
"Lord, beer me strength."
No chance of signing him, he's over the D-Line weight limit
I would challenge you to a battle of wits, but you appear to be unarmed.

Anna-Megan Raley says the Brock tryout might be to replace an injured Bulman
… and thus we might still be interested in Schobel. Let’s all pray that this is the case, because Mario Williams, Antonio Smith, Connor Barwin, Raheem Brock, and Aaron Schobel are a good DE rotation.
I don't see them signing both Brock and Schobel
I keep hearing that Schobel may be a bit too pricey which is why Brock’s getting this interest.
"Lord, beer me strength."
Quiet you.
I prefer to live in a blissful dream world where our team doesn’t make bone-headed personnel decisions.
That's the same thing LZ said on Twitter
He said Schoebel is still in play

also reported that 1st round draft pick, Kareem Jackson, won’t be at the game on Sat. vs. the Cards. He’ll be attending his grandmothers funeral. It was the “personal” issue he had to take care of earlier this week:
Playoffs?
Considering injuries are a part of the football experience can the Texans make the playoffs without wr Andre Johnson?
Also condolences for Kareem. It’s always sad to lose a loved one.
Feeling the five stages of grief since 2002.

I agree
AJ going down would be devastating, but Walter was able to step up his game a couple of years ago when AJ went down. If Jacoby is really ready to take that next step, and DA can keeping getting open consistently we would be able to survive. Plus we have plenty of options of guys who should be able to make plays in the passing game from the TE position. Steve should be even more dangerous in the passing game with a lighter load. Dickerson looks like he might have been a steal who’s ready to contribute sooner rather than later.
I’m not saying the offense wouldn’t take a step down with AJ the field, but we would be able to survive.
