possible backups to pry away

not that i dislike DanO - just not that excited if he ever has to come i the game. here are some notables i saw from preseason game 1s:

kellen clemens:

dude showed some good poise in the packet and decent accuracy - jets seemed set on brunell at the 2. any chance we can pry him from them. i'd even gift offer Fred Bennett or a pick or something iono. thoughts?

http://espn.go.com/video/clip?categoryId=2459789&id=5469785 - last minute or so

luke mccown;

dude looked great for the jags. then again, they might wanna keep him when garrard never gets out of his funk

SAGE:

he's lightyears ahead of DanO

any others? thoughts?

Has no trade value whatsoever. Zero.

Cr@p

I mean, ummmm, Bennett for your backup RB or QB would be a fantastic deal for you! I love the Ngata idea!

It's not really a question of if he sucks it up.....

… That’s like wondering if the sun is going to rise tomorrow. No, it’s how bad he sucks it up that matters. If he sucks little enough that the NFL owners wouldn’t call a meeting and vote the Texans off the Island out of the league, Kubiak will probably trust him, or John David Booty, or the Janitor as the backup quarterback.

Back-up RB

In case you are in the market, and looking for a dependable RB, nothing stellar, but decent ball control and great for short yardage situations, look at Aaron Stecker. He filled in for New Orleans a couple of years ago, and spent part of last year on the Falcons roster. I think he was cut when Turner and Norwood both got healthy. Stecker has been in the league for a little while, but a 1-2 year deal for a back-up RB might be a good investment.

Wow, he was only in the league pulling back up duty for a few years

I guess playing for Atlanta last year didn’t help his confidence.
