Open Game Day Thread MK.II: Texans v. Saints
Houston Texans at New Orleans Saints, Aug 21, 2010 5:00 PM PDT
And since the defense achieved all their goals in the first quarter, we decided there was no need for a second. The end.
Hmmm...Good opening thread. Good, but not great. Now, lets take a look at that new game thread--soup that baby up, rattle a few windows down on Canal Street tonight.

First team offense...
Beginning to click again. Good running by Foster.
they win the first, let's win the second.

If Schaub had an accurate deep ball, Kevin Walter would have already skipped into the endzone.
That said, Foster is the only bright spot on the team right now. The defense looks absolutely pathetic.

My notes so far:
Defense? Sucks.
Holliday? Muffs.
Offense? Thank god there’s penalties.

If this is the prequel, is it too late
to start hoping for the season to be over already?
Assmass alone does not a NT make.
The Texans should just sign the turf
Play it at nose tackle.

Ah yes

Oh, wait, he was a fire hydrant.
A Texans fan. Really. No, I'm not kidding.

Pathetic
another pathetic preseason performance. no way this doesn’t carry over to the regular season.
It's Our Time.... or something...

Yikes
Just started watching. Not much optimism in the comments. Are we to worry or is it just preseason afterall
Houston Texans Number One
Less worried
The Saints are a top team. We’re just turning it over too damn much. That’s fixable.
"Lord, beer me strength."
I'm trying to be optimistic
that Holliday won’t be there to muff punts and that Foster doesn’t swim move with the ball again.
"Lord, beer me strength."
Has the defense recorded even a single tackle for loss?
Assmass alone does not a NT make.
Can we please end the Twitter segment
Please.

Barwin got destroyed on that play.

Nice to see
We can make Chase Daniels look like Steve Young.

Can Chase Daniels play TE?
Assmass alone does not a NT make.
Pollard's intensity sure helped out there.

Let's see if putting Nolan & Sharpton in makes a difference

Can we convince ourselves
that this was the first game of the regular season and then they play better after…..good laaawwwwdddddd!!!!!!
The good?
A red zone rushing TD. A 52 yard FG by Rackers (to edge ahead of Brown). JD playing well.
That’s about it.
"Lord, beer me strength."
He doesnt have to throw the ball
When Reggie Bush is running up the middle on us.

and the penalties
Assmass alone does not a NT make.
The good news
Is my expectations won’t be as high come week1. Less letdown.

I think John Harris might actually hunt down Tracy Porter after the game is over

What do you think Kubes must be saying to the team after that?
"Do you ever feel more like you do now then when you got there?"
bet he ain't smilin anymore....
that’s for sure.

Signs your front 7 sucks
Leading tacklers? Eugene Wilson and Glover Quin with 7. Second? Pollard with 6.
"Lord, beer me strength."
curious
i wonder if our 1st string D could stop their 3rd string offense. if i were Kubiak I’d leave them on the field until they stop someone.

Hopefully the 2nd half is our good half

It's been a bad half, but it's a bad preseason half
I like that it’s been sloppy. There’s a reason for Kubes to turn up the practices next week.
There’s been some positives, but they won’t get too cocky. A lot of these guys will want to come out better next week.
"Lord, beer me strength."
maybe we should bench the starters......
and start the backups next week….i think i’ve had a few too many…
