I heard the Falcons were in need of a CB.....
seems they have on that is missing in action, LOL!
I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?

comments from cowboy fans that make me laugh.
we are making it too obvious that we aren’t taking this game as seriously as houston

the cowboys are playing false tells… so the texans think they have them figured out but in week 3 bam we blow them out…

We might have played this game differently if the Texans weren’t on the schedule. This was a strategic decision by the coaching staff. I think it was a smart decision. Deflating for a fan, but the team doesn’t seem fazed by it.

Cowgirls fans always have excuses..
The Texans need to make a T-shirt with a shot of Andre dragging Terrance Newman on his shirt tail for 5 yards and put “A premonition of week 3” on the back.

“Andre Johnson owned the middle of the field like he always does”
well he should considering the middle was wide open all game
Andre Johnson is great yessir but he was allowed underneath stuff and wasnt allowed a deep play
when its a real game guys expect a totally different defensive scheme
congrats you played great last night

by Archie Barberio on Aug 29, 2010 7:15 PM CDT up reply actions
Yes and no
Pro Bowl is meaningless cause name players get the votes which often leads to a lot of snubs.
Pre-season outcome doesn’t matter, but performance does. Vanilla or not, the trend on the Cowboys is bad OLine, bad red zone offense, and bad run offense. You can make excuses, but 4 straight games of the same thing shows a trend.
Thanks for playing though. See ya in week 3.

Where you dropped on your head as a kid?
Have you ever tried just turning off the TV, sitting down with your children, and hitting them?
The real question is...
When the Texans demolish the Southern Oklahoma CowPies, will you officially eat your crow then, or shall we save it until later in the season, say week 17, when the Texans have a better record than the emaciated big brown CowPies? It’s not like I have to step out far on a limb for that kind of prediction either.
Week 3 simply won’t come soon enough…
Oh wait...
I forgot…the CowPies have their precious rings. Damn…and how long ago was that again? I could’ve sworn that was further back than the Texans team has been in existence.
It truly is the pre-season.

I'd probably put slightly more stock into what they were saying if they looked any differently last night than...
… any game prior to this one. The Cowboys’ biggest problem right now is that their offensive line is playing like the worst in the league. I know they’d have injuries, but it really wasn’t better before this.
Oh yeah
2.8 YPC before the Texans game, 1.1 last night. Their line looks like crap, their offense is out of sync….
Their defense has looked decent, but the Texans offense just steamrolled them with basic plays.
"Lord, beer me strength."
Those were vanilla run blocks, and they even used artificial vanilla.
They’re saving the real super-complex, super-secret, super-duper, run blocks for later. Because God knows, run blocking is complicated.

That still doesn't explain...
The lack of pass-blocking. Haha!
the cowboys are playing false tells...
I think that the Cowboys were holding back some of their game plays; but so were the other 31 teams, including the Texans. You have to go were the rubber meets the road on this subject— neither Dallas nor Texans want to lose this preseason game; so holding back plays is not a problem in figuring WHOM WANTED THE WIN MORE! I am a Cowboy fan and have been since Bob Hayes days; but I am foremost a HOUSTONIAN and without reservation a TEXANS fan!! Football is football but when Texas meets Texas A&M ,or the Boys meet NY, or if the Cowboys and Houston line up there is something a bit more at stake(preseason or not). The fact remains when the ONES hit the field on opening kickoff until the final whistle The TEXANS wanted a win MORE THAN THE GIRLS DID!!!!
The Fall of Bennett
Is one of the more perplexing collapses I’ve ever seen in terms of player development.
He couldn't get his head straight in games, from what I could tell.
The talent is there.

Agreed
I think with a good DB coach, he could be a contributor.
I think Baltimore would be an ideal location for him. There’s also Cleveland and Detroit who could use people at CB.
"Lord, beer me strength."
I thought
Gibbs was a good DB coach?
I mean I’ve heard people credit him as a big part of Glover/McCain being good.

I left out a phrase
good DB coach and change of scenery. I think he still has the talent, but for whatever is the case, Houston didn’t work for him.
Gibbs is good, but Bennett just got put in the doghouse and never climbed out.
"Lord, beer me strength."
i left out a phrase
Bennetts was constantly out played and out of place during his coverage duties and that is what put him in the doghouse! His only option was to committ multiple interf. calls he was flagged on in all the years he was on the team except 07.
I was over on POD....
awhile back and offered them Fred Bennett’s services….no takers, not even a return comment.
Just my $.02
Even duct tape can't fix stupid
I think Bennett deserves his fair share of the blame - I don't put this on the coaches
He has the physical tools and showed a great deal of potential in his rookie season. We have other DB’s in Quin & McCain who already look better than they did in their rookie seasons.

Well now that Bennetts gone
I guess Mcmanis gets the “worst Texans CB” tag. Hopefully he flashes a little more so they won’t be forced to cut him too.
by leacheatsbabies on Aug 29, 2010 4:38 PM CDT reply actions
He held onto the ball...
On his kickoff return (did he have more than one) and made a decent choice to kneel it in the end zone instead of trying to make something out of nothing. And he had one or two defensive plays where he was in the right place and within his zone, even if the Cowboys didn’t throw it his way.
Well now that Bennetts gone
McManis would never make team anyway!
:/ Fred Bennett came up to the first row last night
Right about when the game ended, he saw two little kids sitting there and he took off his gloves and he gave one glove to each kid.
