Kris Brown, Steve Slaton In Walking Boots Yesterday

Yesterday's post-practice quotes revealed that bit o' information. So sayeth the Kubiak:

(on any update on plantar fasciitis with K Kris Brown) "No. We just kept (K Kris Brown) off the field today. He and (RB) Steve (Slaton) both were in a boot today, so he'll be back out here tomorrow."

Could this mean that, once again, I was completely, totally, and utterly wrong? This time about Neil Rackers not having a shot at winning the kicking battle?

One of the these days, I'm going to be right about something. When it happens, look skyward, because there will be horsemen galloping across the heavens at that exact moment.

He had a toe injury on Saturday that cut his night short

As for Rackers, I think the injury to Brown may be the deciding point.

From all I have heard, and this is coming from Kubiak...

The kickers have been in a dead heat. Seams kind of, I don’t know, unfair?; ridiculous?; stupid?; non-scientific?; you pick a word? to go down to the last preseason game and make the cut based just on that one game.

I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?

Thanks TDC

I unfortunately missed the game due to the Cards playing at the same time and fighting with mexicans over the TV is an unwise choice!

how?

how can they wear a walking boot and be a practice tom?
I thought u had to wear those for a few days sometimes weeks

I guess they wanted to protect it at all times

To prevent slaton stubbing his toe and worsening the injury etc…

I was with you tim, I thought rackers had no shot, and still think that’s the case if brown doesn’t get hurt

But hopefully rackers will be 23/26 and no one will ever talk about it, unless we get to the postseason and he shanks a 38 yarder

I think Rackers is going to win out

I like Kris Brown, even after last year’s problems, but there’s just no question about it to me. You take the healthier guy who is not coming off a bad year.

I think it HAS to be Rackers

Because if they end in a “tie” and Kubes picks Brown and then Brown costs us a game…Gary is coaching for his job this year and I think Rackers is the safe choice.

So, naturally, it will be Brown.

nice point.

I wonder how much of a final say Rick Smith will have? He will probably tell Gary there is no way we can go with Brown . Rick doesn’t strike me as the type to let personal feelings get in the way of rational thought.

This is true

Kubes tends to believe certain guys are clutch performers when they have clearly never been…like Chris Brown last year../shudder

I fear his man-crush for K. Brown will cost us a game or 2 and subsequent lynching of Brown by an angry mob…do it for Kris, Kubes..go with Rackers.

are you kidding?

rackers chokes in every playoff game. If he didnt he’d still be in AZ.. not to worry …we wont be going to the playoffs!
