Results Of Community Projection: Andre Johnson

Average numbers: 1416.48 yards, 11.3 touchdowns, 66.91% catch rate.

Highs: 1640 yards (do), 15 TD's (Ivan A and Texanmaniac), 73% catch rate (Rip Jersey)

Lows: 1086 yards (TexansSchmackDown), 8 TD's (yours truly), 55% catch rate (ChadillacSHSU)

Another sorta low turnout, although it didn't help that Kerns fanposted within 45 minutes of it going up this week. We had 23 guessers, 25 if you take out the two I threw out of the averages (Nollie for no catch rate, LoneSpot cause his projection would've destroyed my spreadsheet). I think it'll be a little better next week now that Open Practices are done with. At least I hope so.

I'll come right out and say that my low TD count is solely because I think we are going to be a more effective and more efficient running offense this year, and that will take a little of the air out of the ball. I think I was among the lowest guesses on Schaub's TD's as well.

The tiebreakers segment was interesting. We had a contingent of weird one-off guesses: Garrett Graham, David Anderson, Dorin Dickerson (!?!?), and Joel Dreesen. Then we had three players, as with the running backs, going neck-and-neck. Owen Daniels was the winner with 7, which tells me Texans fans are an optimistic lot. Then Kevin Walter had 6 and Jacoby Jones wound up with 5. So hey, lots of variation, which I was kind of hoping for when I set it up as a tiebreaker.

We'll slide over to the defensive side next week. I suggest you all take some Vicodin and Nyquil, because our next player to guess at has no intensity.

Have you ever tried just turning off the TV, sitting down with your children, and hitting them?

tip o the cap to ya

If OD goes down for the season again, he’s right there…

I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?

He’s never gotten 10 TDs in his career, so while he will lead the league in yards again, its hard to predict double digit TDs when he never has before and we have alot of weapons to spread the ball around to.

That's prob why the average is around 11.3, it's his average plus fan hope.
