Big Ron Was There Today

Some good tweets, and it appears he’s worried about Orlovsky as well.

Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

His tweets are phenominal
Whoa! Barwin w/ the pick-6 of Schaub. #98 was in a 2-pt stance. Hybrid front there. 3 down DL w/ LB zone-dog. Nice!

Look at that insight. Beautiful.

I want them to actually use that in games

Have you ever tried just turning off the TV, sitting down with your children, and hitting them?

Sky’s blue, grass is green, beer is good, and Kris Brown misses 2 FGs…..what else is new?

So

What I’m hearing is we’re going to the Super Bowl, right?

Last night the Mothership released an unofficial depth chart

They said there was no surprises, I was surprised quite a few times.

By what?

That’s basically the starting line-up from week 17 minus Dunta plus K-Jax.

Explainin needed

What happen to no specialist? Holiday can’t be just a return guy but we can have Weeks just as a long snapper.

by DPar on Aug 7, 2010 1:11 PM CDT reply actions

Good point

I don’t buy that Kubiak will not give a roster spot to a specialst. They carried Bryan Pittman from 2006-2008 as a LS. If Trindon shines ay KR and/or PR then he should be given a slot. We have both Dreesen and Casey who can LS.

It took the Astros 44 years to get to the Series, the Oilers-Texans are due to get to the big dance...Go Texans!!!!!

Except snapping is of vital importance and who our LS is is legitimately up in the air...

… whereas we are already one of the best teams in the league in terms of returns. I’d argue that a good LS is more important than a good returner.

And you can “not buy that Kubiak won’t give a roster spot to a [return] specialist,” but he all but said it multiple times during OTAs.

Coach-speak

Flip a coin to see if it’s true or not.

For reference, see the “we will/won’t carry 3 QBs on the active roster”….depending on which offseason you choose to reference.

If the Treasury Secretary doesn't have to pay taxes, then why do I?

by Shake on Aug 8, 2010 3:03 PM CDT up reply actions

Kubiak last year said that he wouldn't cut Pittman, who had been money for years, but he did

So I wouldn’t put a whole lot of stock into anything he publicly says. So much of being and NFL HC is spreading disinformation. Anything he can say to devalue Holliday makes it more likely (in his mind at least) that he can stash him on the PS. Assuming that his hammy heals, and he can make a few decent plays in preseason, I don’t think he can. Either he gives him a roster spot or someone else will.

Stashing him on the PS *is* cutting him.

I never said he wouldn’t be on the PS. I just don’t think he’s got a place on the active roster.

Molden's leg hasn't fallen off yet?

Have you ever tried just turning off the TV, sitting down with your children, and hitting them?

by nolander on Aug 7, 2010 2:21 PM CDT reply actions

Time for Molden to have a healthy year after 2 non-seasons

What a great bonus it would be if Molden could be the player that he was projected to be when taken in the 3rd round. Our secondary would start to look a whole lot better if Quin could slide into the nickel with Molden and K-Jack starting; low on experience but long on ability.

I can see it now

Rackers wipes Brown’s ass in every training camp practice for weeks and then Brown has one good preseason game with the coaches making the decision on that.

I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?

by Rip Jersey on Aug 7, 2010 5:06 PM CDT reply actions

As much as I want Rackers to win the job

Wouldn’t a preseason game provide the most game speed environment for a kicker? I mean if brown outdoes rackers there I think I’d rather have brown…

Like I said

i have a bad feeling thatll happen also :/

I just dont understand why kris is even given a shot, the problems between his ears, not his talent.. he’ll get into cruntch time again this season and rip our hearts out once more and I think I’ll destroy my tv this time

Rockets-Texans-Dynamo-Longhorn fan.. used to be Astros too, but not sure there a pro team anymore

On the RB position

AMR reported that Steve Slaton received most of the 1st team carries yesterday. She didn’t say if anything was wrong with Arian Foster.

I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?
