I was really looking forward to Studdard winning LVP this year. Dang.

I expect that pic posted in the next 15 minutes, as I am, as always, on my iPhone, currently wandering the streets of DC. Just gave the finger to the white house, felt good

We got anyone hear matching this description? :-p
One of those is SBNation.com. The Washington-based network of 270 team-centric and sport-specific and geographically focused websites (each operating under its own Web address) pays part-timers to produce most of its content. Many of the writers are lawyers, looking for an outlet for their writing and argumentative skills, said SBNation chief executive Jim Bankoff.

I've worked for a couple of lawyers.

And you are right about that sir. About the paralegals doing all the grunt work. All they do is pretend to “look through documents” before signing them.

Breakdown

Can anyone offer insight into how well smith has performed and what made the coaches pick him over briesel or studdard? The reason I include studdard is because i saw someone else’s breakdown of his playing in the preseason and they said that up to that point he had performed the best at guard. Also what does the starting o-line look like now besides the obvious tackle positions.

LG Smith, C Myers, RG TBD

Between Caldwell and Brisiel. I think Caldwell has a huge edge and this is a motivational tool more than anything though.

by riversmccown on Sep 1, 2010 2:11 PM CDT up reply actions

I've touched on it some through the position battle/starter projection threads...

I’ll break it down:

Why Wade? Honestly, I believe his paycheck had something to do with it. He’s getting paid a bit too much to be a back-up. He performed poorly at Arizona, but has steadily improved. The coaches and other linemen have said it….I’ve seen it. He still struggles a bit in pass blocking because he gets pushed back, but he’s solid on run blocking….pretty good on the move.

Brisiel, to me, has looked the best because he’s stronger at the point of attack. He pushes his man back on run blocking, makes some great seal blocks, and doesn’t get pushed back too far on pass blocking. He’s a mauler and should’ve won, but I don’t see everything.

Studdard blows. He’s not the best at anything. He constantly gets beat. He’s a tough player when he gets his hands on you, but he’s slow and doesn’t move his feet. He could be a starter if he got his legs working right.

Line as of now is Brown – Smith – Myers – Caldwell – Winston, but the coaches have said Brisiel and Caldwell will be battling for the RG on Thursday. I expect Caldwell to win….dude’s been great this pre-season.

At the same time...

because Brisiel can play G and C, he’ll be a great back-up. His versatility should also let the coaches cut the abysmal Chris White.

Wasn't Briesel coming back from surgery in the offseason

…or did I just make that up? I think that could have slowed him down a little early in camp. Either way I think Smith and Caldwell makes the most sense for now. If either goes down or struggles I feel pretty good that there won’t be much of, if any, a drop off.
