AFC south BBS Poll Just for fun.

Since I am a BRB contributer and am pretty sure it is impossible to be banned here except for SPAM-ing a lot. And because I have noticed that many of us have something in common, that we have been banned from SB on at least one occasion and have likely have had a combined tens of thousands of posts disappear. I though I would give us a little place where we could (free from censorship) share our opinions for the leaders of SBNation to see.

Edit and FYI

I just want to say, I posted this because as a general rule I like forums to be open with a verity of opinions and viewpoints. I think this adds to the depth and breadth of both readership and information available to the fans. And in general I would say I’m just pro free speech. That is really the only issue I have ever really had with BBS. It is my understanding that BBS was around since nearly the beginning of SB nation and has made contributions to the whole community by helping to bring in many of the great moderators and authors that we all enjoy today. He also regularly contributes to the SB community via comments and articles. Thanks BBS for 95% of what you do. However I would really like to see the censorship issue addressed.

The level of censorship goes far beyond any that is reasonable and acceptable in a free and open community....Castro thinks the censorship is a little harsh.

He bans all trolls over at SB, but then he trolls on other blogs. He is a lame low life that is full of himself.

Don't want to start shit or pile on

but… when quality contributors started getting BANNED or merely having their opinions and comments wiped out I got a little shitty. Then a bunch of people who made SB REALLY good took off. The eternal thread burns on here, though, and I like it

SB is still Colts’-home for me, so don’t go there to troll and be a dick: there are enough dicks there already. Spending your time stewing on BBS’s injustices is a waste of time. It’s almost as funny as how much time you guys spend worrying about/ hating Peyton Manning: almost obsessive. By doing this you give BBS more power than he deserves.

Peyotn Manning, on the other hand, still owns your ass though…. HA!

Yes, the best QB in the fucking NFL owns us.

Peyton owns everyone, we know that. We have discussed all of the key match ups for Sunday’s game, so this is appropriate.

BBS is hated by everyone, especially us, so we enjoy talking shit about him here. We don’t go over there and troll about him since most of us our banned from his site, so again, we stay here and do it.

You know why we worry about Peyton Manning? Because he’s the best QB in the NFL. It’s kind of funny how you come over here and tell us that it’s sad for us to worry about one of the best QBs in NFL history.

Just guessing

It is very likely some of the guys who run the other SBN sites.

1. They are (mostly) not subject to any of the (alleged) troll-hypocrisy shenanigans.

2. In the early years of SBN, Brad actually did a very good job of scouting and recruiting folks to form these blog sites for each NFL team. (I have no idea how many, but I know that I am grateful to him for bringing Tim/Scott in to form BRB.) So there may be some folks who feel a sense of gratitude.

It’s a shame that I can’t go to SB and be involved in any kind of civil discourse with posters over there without the fear that the next time I go there the moderator has deemed me unworthy because my opinion was pro Texans and find that I am unwlecome and have been banned. What a downright shame!

SB averages about 1/8th as many comments since BBS went crazy

I mean, he was always crazy, but when he recently started targeting his highly-active, smart, college-aged crowd (many of whom had nothing better to do but make intelligent comments on his site at all hours of the night) his site literally lost everything that was making it good. Even some of the site managers seemed to sour on him, so now it’s basically a wasteland consisting mainly of new posters, dumb people and/or BBS supporters (of which there are a few, shockingly).

I personally love it. I’m a parent and a teacher so I think you should have consequences for bad behavior, and that’s what these drastically lower comment numbers are. I don’t have anything personally against BBS, but I stopped going to SB long before he banned the well-respected community members, simply because of his sensationalistic, reactionary writing style.

But I’m not sure it’s about “censorship” so much as just immaturity. If he could figure out a way to logically remove threats to his ego without banning them, I’m sure he would do it ;)
