Sprint Game Ball Of The Week: Rashad Butler

This post is sponsored by Sprint.

As the fancy branding indicates, we've got ourselves a new sponsor/running feature here on BRB. Each week, we'll be awarding a fake game ball to one of your Houston Texans. Needless to say, this initial post would have been far more fun to write after Week One or Week Two.

After Week Three? After this abomination? I should probably just award the game ball to alcohol, the cause of and the solution to all of life's problems.

Star-divide

Instead of taking the easy and/or bitter way out, however, let's give the pretend game ball to Rashad Butler for stepping in for Duane Brown and doing a serviceable job against DeMarcus Ware. Ware did have three (3) sacks, but they were mostly of the coverage variety, rather than the smoked-off-the-line variety. Not exactly worthy of enshrinement in Canton, but certainly not a total embarrassment.

Yeah...so it's come to that. The game ball goes to an offensive lineman who yielded three sacks. Pretty good summary of what transpired yesterday, I'd say.

Nice Catch

I wrote this post on Monday and scheduled it to post this morning; hence, the confusion.

Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

I just figured...

the post was also sponsored by Monday and that was your subtle plug for it as well.

Touche

But Mondays give me heartburn, so no sponsored post for them.

Heartburn?

I believe we have a sponsor who can help you out there.

Actually

I know for sure one of those sacks happened when Dreesen was on Ware so Butler gave up two sacks

Not entirely true

During Kubiak’s press conference he was asked about Butler…Kubiak said that Butler only allowed 1 sack and he blamed that on Schaub holding the ball too long. As a pass blocker, he thought Butler was great. Needs some polish in run blocking,.

can eugene wilson get suspended?

I like brown but butler worked real well in the pass blocking.

I am tattooing a picture of Jacobi Jones to my Mannschaft, Because it loves to go deep and always does a dance in the end...zone!
Go Texans!

That would be great

As has been posted on this blog before he can’t cover well he is good for about 3 or 4 missed tackles a game and he has missed some gift wrapped interceptions that could’ve proven to be game changers give Troy Nolan a chance

He (Eugene) is day-to-day with a hamstring issue

so there could always be hope that it doesn’t feel good until next Monday at the earliest.
