If Pancakes latest tweet is to be believed.
Texans are keeping kicker Neil rackers over kris brown, who was the last original Texan.

Although the right choice
I’m sad to see the last original Texan pack his bags. He had many more good years than bad. And I will always love him for his ridiculously premeditated miss against the Titans that helped us get Mario.
The kicker is dead. Long live the kicker!

Bucs fans
Are all telling me this on Twitter:
if you want an underachieving un-motivated out of shape back, he’s your man. We in Tampa were glad 2 see him go.

Belechick has answered interviews in the last week saying he was not releasing Maroney
I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?
Didn't see enough of a difference to be happy about this...
I can’t see that “miss” last night being the problem; it was on-target, just short… from 56 yards no less. Especially since it’s my impression that Kris Brown has the longer leg of the two options.
Don’t get me wrong, I wanted a change at the end of last year, I just don’t think that Rackers proved to be that much of an improvement.
In Smithiak I trust, tho… So, good luck Kris and welcome Neil!
Kris had a good run here good and bad.
I think the coaches wanted him to get a chance now before too late on other teams. we all know if kris was to miss a field goal this year he would be fired next day. so Kubes is just being a standup guy and letting him find work somewhere else. With that said i hope it is not to any team we are playing this year cuz if he wins a game against us it will be on.
This was Kris Brown's BEST preseason ever
and I must say, he did not beat Rackers out. At best, you might say Brown represented himself well, but he did not beat Rackers. So, at Kris Brown’s best he is not the best. If the Texans truly cut him, they have made the correct decision for the team.

don't get me wrong!!!!!!!
i actually prefer rackers, but i’m sad that KB couldn’t nail that 57 yarder, for old times sake.

I am actually surprised..
i have been on the rackers bandwagon. Mostly because i knew if Brown stayed around by week 3 riots would have occured after he missed a fg that cost us the game. With Rackers if the same happens most of us would be like well there was no better kicker on the market this offseason.

Go Texans!
I'm in the same boat.
It was a sensible decision, not an earth-shaking one. I’ve liked Rackers for a while, and while he has his moments he is reliable. With that said, I’m sad to see Brown go. Original Texan or not, it’s a hard thing to lose a contributor to the team.

I will not cheer to see Kris Brown leave
He had some big kicks with us, I will be sad to see him go. I will not dispute this is the right decision, but i have fond memories of K Brown
Have you ever tried just turning off the TV, sitting down with your children, and hitting them?

Gut Feeling
…says Rackers is injured by week 6 and we’re forced to hire Santiago Gramatica due to a lack of available kickers. Hope I’m wrong.
hahahahfhadsfaihfaf
So wait, the Texans released their longtime kicker, for Neil fucking Crackers? Just wait until you guys are tied with the Colts late in the 4th quarter and he has a chance to win the game and turns into shankapotomous and then Peyton drives down with 5 seconds to go and throws a bomb to Reggie Wayne and beats you in amazing, gut-wrenching fashion yet again.
Or there’s always the possibility that he could fall down like a dumbass and then the holder picks up the ball and tries making a break for the endzone only to fumble and have a Colts player recover it and return it for a touchdown.
That my friends is a combination of the Texans’ bad luck and the shittiness of Neil Crackers. Either way, good luck (not really).
I feel like we lost last year on the leg of Kris Brown
If that’s the worst case scenario, a push, then hey it’s all up hill.
No way that happens again.

Man, you're right!
This will be a huge change from what happened last year!
…wait….

I flip flopped as bas as Mitt Romney on this one
Initial reaction to the Rackers signing was very enthusiastic, but what I saw up until the TB game told me that KB was marginally better because of his stronger leg, and presumably better KO depth. Have no way of knowing to what extent the plantar fascitis came into play but if the job was still in question prior to last Thursday (which may not be the case) KB did not help himself at all. Not only did he come up very short on the long FG, but Rackers did better on KO depth. I wish KB well, and truly hope he gets another chance, but Rackers won the job and Kubiak made the right decision.
It took the Astros 44 years to get to the Series, the Oilers-Texans are due to get to the big dance...Go Texans!!!!!
