Open Thread for Cuts, Dream Scenarios, and #NoseTackleLust
Lots of interesting cuts today, so I thought I'd kick off an open thread. Just saw that Myron Rolle was released, and I know I'd like to give him a look.

We already have one smart guy in the D backfield...
I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?
I like that pic of Dickerson making that one-handed catch down the sideline
If he had made that in a regular season game, he would be a minor celebrity today….

I'd love for us to sign Rolle and cut Barber.
If Rolle didn’t go to Oxford, he could have been a top 10 pick. Only problem with signing him is that he may not get much playing time behind Pollard. He gives us good depth though. Him and Troy Nolan would be excellent back ups.

I would be surpirsed
I think he can be a decent player but we already have the same guy in steve slaton, he’s no the most physical back around more of a finesse runner. I am still hoping to see Gartrell Johnson in a Texans jersey one day but I doubt it
Gartrell Johnson is going to be a player for Kubiak someday,
… be that here or with another team.
That said, if Torain and Slaton are the same guy, let’s take Torain. He doesn’t fumble, has vision, and doesn’t have a pair of bolts spine.
but he tore his ACL
a few years ago and only had success when Shanahan was killing it in Denver, He didn’t look great with Washington this pre-season and I think he has lost his confidence. If Steve can regain HIS confidence I think he’ll be closer to 2008 SS rather than 2009
If Foster can stay healthy and Slaton, too, then I see Slaton spelling Foster and making plenty of plays
I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?
its pretty damn amazing

About as quick
As they turned on Dunta Robinson… It doesn’t matter how great he was in his rookie season or whether his decline was caused by injury. He was injured and right now he looks more like a #3 or #4 back than anything else. Maybe we can scheme ways to get him in space, but I think it’s wishfull thinking to predict anything greater than a situational role for Slaton this year.. And he’s definitely not up to being Foster’s backup in which he’d have to be an everydown back if he went down, which is why the coaches freaked out and picked through other teams’ garbage to try to find someone who could carry the load if needed here.
My issues with Slaton
I can overlook a lot of his deficiencies as long as he’s a homerun threat. But, he hasn’t shone that ability in quite a while. My three pet peeves for a running back are: 1) Fumbling 2) Running into blockers with holes all around 3) Getting knocked backward when tackled 4) Fumbling. Slaton is guilty of ALL of these far too often for my taste. And if he’s not going to break big runs, he’s a huge negative in the backfield. I’d much rather see Jeremiah Johnson.
"I like watching the old naked couple on public access...until the guy stands up, then it sux." ~ BFD
Hahaha! dunta.....
Have you been following him? His hammy has been sore all through preseason. Hasn’t practiced, hasn’t played in a preseason game. Yet, his fans in Atlanta are still behind him. A big contract and lack of knowledge on the part of the fanbase has given him a free pass. But, as Albert Haynesworth knows, that won’t last forever….
I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?
Maybe not as quick
Because Slaton has yet to become a self-centered, whiny douche. That’s probably bought him until Week 2.

Cody Glenn
converted to LB form RB by Bo Pelini. Drafted by the redskins and waived but then picked up by the Colts. HE was on the Roster all year but i doubt he was very good or made a significant play all year.Kind of a head case
Think he's more of a 3-4/LB/DE tweener

You always take the ball if you win the toss
Unless you’re in a backwater like New Zealand, Then, if you win the toss, you defer. The other team doesn’t know what that is, so they assume you get the ball. They choose and end. Then you get to get the ball at the start of both halves!

Nice.
Do they do the flip before or after the haka? Do they have a special haka for gridiron? They should.

They always do the haka just before kick off, after the coin toss.
Luckily, we only do it prior to international games. So I’ve only seen it the once, when I was back judge for the NZ v Australia game prior to the junior world cup. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ka_Mate

I think Myron Rolle
could be a nice number 2/project safety… give him a year in an NFL system i say he gets back to his form. plus i enjoy smart people, and would like to run into him and discus thermonuclear as a power source in vehicles.

I agree
I have been waiting for amobi to break out but i have a feeling he is another travis johnson. never mind amobi actually has potential. Either if he doesn’t destroy qb’s this year then he might be on his way out. I’m only asking for 6 sacks.

Yeah fuck you guys.
I’m stuck in Baltimore, biggest shit hole ever. I did watch Texas and Florida suck equally as bad as the sooners.
I didn’t watch the game but they gave up after being up 21-0. Fucking spoiled thugs.
Anyway, did I really see pat white, Willie parker, And dre Bly mentioned? Are you guys smoking crack?

Try not to get stabbed....what? someone already said that?
There’s about two areas about 1/4 mile long that I feel safe in Baltimore. I don’t advise getting out of your moving car in any of the other areas….
I suppose if all of the stars, moons and planets align it could be possible, but what are the chances of that?

The only place safe near Baltimore is Aberdeen Proving Grounds
However I doubt you can go there since it’s a military base

Question
I just saw the Texans depth chart on their website and noticed that we are carrying five guards. Why haven’t we replaced Studdard with Smith and make an extra spot that way for another position? Maybe add another tackle and replace the human turnstile? Also can we do something about the DE situation? I don’t feel confident about having Nading and Jamison as back ups.
