Texans Hire Vance Joseph as Defensive Backs Coach
Vance Joseph comes to us from San Francisco. I don't know anything about him, but I do like Greg Manusky, who apparently thinks highly of Joseph.

Apparently...
He played at Colorado. That’s all you really need to know.
Plus coached with Phillips in San Diego
Maybe SD becomes a new pipeline

its like playing 6 degrees of kevin bacon...
How can we associate any new hires or players with the state of colorado.
Every coach in the NFL
Can be connected by fewer than 6 degrees. Every. One.

A shallow and incestuous pool indeed
I am totally optimistic about the Texans new season - at least until the first of the 4 or 2 (if any) preseason games

Possible exception
Dick Labeau and Frank Bush
I will analyze and get back to you on that….
I didn't do anything wrong!.... and, I won't do it again.
I can be worse
As we are closely connected to Cowturds multiple ways now:
Cowturds – Player/Coach Dan Reeves Coaches —> Broncos wide Wade and Shanny as coordinators Kubiak as player/coach —>who now coaches Texans with Wade who not only was a Cowturds coach but coached under former Cowturds player/coach Reeves in Denver.
Whatever degree that is – it is not big

How about...
Frank Bush coached with Ray Rhodes – Texans
Ray Rhodes coached with Jon Gruden – Eagles
Jon Gruden coached with Mike Tomlin – Bucs
Mike Tomlin coaches with LeBeau – Steelers
you saved me a lot of work
I was trying to go though Tim Lewis who is the only DC to ever get fired from the Steelers and who is also famous for cutting James Harrison three times. He was fired for having a defense that was not aggressive enough. He left the Steelers and became DC for the Giants and was subsequently fired for the same reason. if I could have tied him to Frank Bush, I knew the stars, moons and planets had aligned….
I didn't do anything wrong!.... and, I won't do it again.
Another one
Lebeau replaced Dom Capers in Pittsburgh….Capers was replaced by Richard Smith in Houston….who was followed by Mr. Bush.

The "connection" is Colorado State
Not Colorado. There is a difference, especially when you consider how much the programs hate each other.

Welcome back Dennison?
Adam Schefter
RT @johnelway: I am excited to announce that John Fox has agreed to terms to become the 14th head coach in Denver Broncos history.
Fox makes sense for Denver
He’s used to succeeding with a borderline-at-best quarterback.

Great Hire For Denver
Fox is a heckuva coach.
Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...
He is, and with Dumervil as a building block
I think their defense will become top-notch. I just hope Tebow’s development is stunted to Delhomme-esque status.
The AFC West could be kinda interesting next year.

If so, this is very good news
Nothing good can come with Kubiak hiring his 25th OC in 6 years.

"Texans Hire Joseph Shmoseph as linebackers coach"
“Shmoseph was partners with Kubiak in third grade for a three legged race. Kubiak says the newest Texans coach showed a lot of drive and determination in that Field Day for Bryerson Elementary School. Coach Shmoseph also has ties to a Denver truckstop where he stopped and took a giant shit on his way through the state of Colorado on a family trip last year.”

Excellent!
I’m excited. The 49ers had a lot of injuries this year, but Joseph helped develop Dashon Goldson at FS. Nate Clement has stayed excellent, and the 9ers had a top secondary in 2009.

I still think he will be
most will look at his junior season and not grade him so high

speaking about safetys
Mocking The Draft has a scouting report on Kenny Tate at 6’4 220 he should be a solid Safety.
BALL SKILLS: Does a good job making plays on the ball in flight. Has great height to go get jump balls. Good range despite not having top speed. Height and ability to cover ground are valuable. Seems to always be around the ball. Does a good job attacking passes and can make game-changing plays here. Reads the QB well.
RECOGNITION: Smart player who finds the ball on every down. Does not get sucked in by play-action. Did a fantastic job against Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder. Does a good job in zone coverage sitting and watching the quarterback. Jumps routes and can make interceptions off of reads.

Make that two of us
I would’ve thought his 2nd round grade would encourage him to head back to school.
Oh what a round 2 that would be.

could end up a cowboy
which will piss me off.

if they go DE in 1st
then they might just go CB in 2nd.

If they don't go OL in one of the first two rounds
Jerrah should fire himself.

I wish
I doubt the man would except such a low position with us but he is welcome, IMO.
Bringing in Houston area guys is always a good thing… especially with the character of Singletary.
Marinelli came back as a D-line coach for a stint.
But only because he was buddies with Lovie Smith. Unless Singletary has a niece who lives in Denver, or something like that, I don’t see it happening.
I believe that he has
A niece that has a friend who knew someone that went skiing in Colorado one Spring Break. But I am not sure

i put this on another post and maybe one of the writers here can help us out.
Do we get a pick for Dunta?
Rumbling on my twitter feed...
…was that we get a 7th. DO NOT quote me on that.
too bad I didn't see this earlier...

Short answer: It’s unlikely we get anything.
This seems like a better spot to ask this question since the thread is nice and fresh
What is Tank Carders draft status? Is he returning to TCU or what?

cowgurls denied us permission to talk
To their LB coach.
I’m unclear as to the rules on this. Is this always an option for an organization? For a limited # of employees? Or are the rules more specific?

I believe if it's a lateral move, they can deny.
If it’s a promotion, they can’t hinder his career.
I may be wrong in that though
One would think they'd take city into consideration.
Oh well.

I know nothing of the new guy
I figue he can’t be any worse than David Gibbs though… fingers crossed
Worst. Job. Evar.
I’d rather be elected president of Chechnya.
He's got it made...
So long as the DBs stay upright….he’s improved over his predecessor.

On another coaching note
The other day, Cowturds DC Paul Pasqualoni left for less greener pastures, what was it, HC at UConn? LOL! Now, what happens to the LB Coach that the Texans were interested in, can’t remember his name….that the Turds denied the Texans talking to for the same position coach on their staff? Does he become available?
I didn't do anything wrong!.... and, I won't do it again.
If the new DC releases/replaces him...
then Yes
If the Treasury Secretary doesn't have to pay taxes, then why do I?
If they release him he is available....thank you for thay, Shake

Niners fan here
and i can tell you guys, this is a horrible hire! We had one of the worst pass defense in the league, and our DBs were just atrocious, especially at the corner position. This hire does not make any sense to me. Just giving you guys a heads up… Good luck to your team in the off-season!
OHHHHHH!!! Take That With Youuuuuu!!!
ps: not trying to take anything away from you guys
because Wade Philips is a great hire for D-Coord! But just saying, don’t expect anything spectacular form your DBs, because Joseph was basically useless as much as Singletary was our HC.Over at Niner Nation, we were very happy when Singletary and some of his weak staff members were not brought back by Jim Harbaugh.
OHHHHHH!!! Take That With Youuuuuu!!!
Maybe this will cheer everyone up
Against the Packers, the 49ers’ defensive backfield had perhaps its worst game of the season in a 34-16 loss to the Green Bay Packers, as Aaron Rodgers threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns. Yesterday, in a playoff game against the Atlanta Falcons, on the Falcons home field, Rodgers threw for 366 yards, three TDs and he ran for an additional TD. So, the Vance Johnson coached DBs did better…. There’s hope!
