The thing that has me most excited about this

Is when we’re part of the whole Big East basketball thing, and then everyone learns what real Coogs fans already knew: James Dickey can’t coach his way out of a paper sack.

Recruiting was never the problem though.

Hell, Drexler lined up quite a few top recruits.

Problem is: what do you do with them? Well, last year Dickey had practically nobody who could consistently be an offensive threat outside of McNeill and Kendrick Washington. Dickey, in his infinite wisdom, decided that Washington deserved to sit the bench 62.2% of the time. Now to be fair, he was suspended at some point (I believe), but why he went underutilized all year baffled me.

Plus, you know, the losses to legendary teams like Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Louisiana Tech.

completely agree about washington.

Even though he had discipline problems he was still the biggest force we had. Other than that there was nobody. Penders left the team with very little talent. Dickeys got 2 top 100 recruits and a pitt transfer on their way and joe young willl be ready next season while harris will only be better. I’m gonna give him the benifit of the doubt on last season. I think they’ll be fine with dickey.

I bring up ideas and they don’t always like it. That’s tough. This is a blog. A blog is for ideas. It’s not for suppressing ideas as Rivers would like to do. If he doesn’t like discussion then he should just shut up.

He says I have spent three weeks whining about Kubiak because he has lost games. Rivers thinks it’s more fashionable to whine about one player, Shaun Cody, who had nothing to do with losing those games. Shaun Cody’s contributions or non-contributions are so irrelevant in the outcome of those games it’s worth about a speck of pepper, yet, that is what he likes to talk about. Or, at least he supports that talk and doesn’t express any qualms about it. But, talk about the Head Coach who has everything to do with the team losing or winning, and, “Whoa!, stop the train! I don’t want you raising issues about the coaching of the Texans!” That’s pretty hypocritical if you ask me.

This is a blog, after all.

Jabs about crying are a lot more impactful when they come from someone who hasn’t spent the last three weeks whining about Kubiak for going 1-2 against three teams with a combined 10-5 record. And losing his two best players in the middle of each of the last two games.

this weekend doesn't look so good for college ball

Florida vs Auburn might be decent but they dont play till 6. Hopefully Arizona St can hang with Oregon just enough to make it interesting but that’s not on till 9:15.
