Before kickoff, if you'd told me the Texans would only be down a FG to the Ravens at half, I would have taken it. In related news, Wade Phillips has awakened feelings in me I never knew I could have.

going into Baltimore and putting on the light show like they did last year was slim to none.
Foster really let the team down with two drops that could have changed this game.
But they played better than I thought to be honest. Jacoby made a play but the Ravens defense is to good to beat at home with two weeks to prepare for the Texans.,

But a trend I note is teams tend to blame their best players when things go wrong.
I’d say if Flacco didn’t complete 3 massive heaves downfield this game is very winnable. It was in range to mid 4th quarter, but once again the D spent too much time on the field and got tired.

But it’s just to obvious for me now. The passing game doesn’t have that same consistency and I love Walter but he doesn’t give us the playmaking ability Andre does. Jacoby is a flash here and there but not consistent enough.

See, this is the problem.
We should be listed as ’Brutal" with those teams as well.
The incompetence of 6 years of this FO has made us a good to mediocre team. We should be FUCKING ELITE at this point. 3 years for Detroit’s rebuilding and they’re pretty goddamn close. Closer than we are.
We settle for winning our weak division (maybe) without the immortal Peyton Manning when we should’ve been kicking Rick Smith and Kubiak outta here 2years ago. The 07 and 09 drafts were absolutely dreadful and count as 2 wasted drafts relative to the talent that’s playing on other teams today.
We deserve better than this. I know this loss was likely, but FUCKING SHIT!!!!!! It still was a winnable game and we couldn’t pull it out. So pissed off at this franchise right now. We needed to capitalize starting 2 years ago, but now all our stars are aging or hurt and we stare a rested Titans team down next week, that we should beat handily, but doubts are starting to creep in this teams head and especially in the fanbase.

I think the talent to win is here.
The depth is finally starting to appear. The D is in reasonable, if not great, hands. We’ve yet to put our actual starting offense on the field for more than 1 quarter.
We’ve also had some excellent drafts, but you fail to mention those. This team lost its top two players. Look what losing Manning did to the Colts. We’re still looking at the playoffs after tons of injuries, and as Green Bay, Arizona, New York and several others showed, if you get in, who knows what might happen.
But yes, I’m doubtful of Kubiak.

Not trying to troll after a loss
Because I was pretty pleased with performances on both sides of the ball today. And yes, our 3 losses were against teams that will all probably be in the playoffs. Got to thinking though… What happens if WE make it into the playoffs? Then we have to win game after game against these playoff teams that we couldn’t keep up with all season, with no margin for error in our first playoff appearance? Meh. Anything is possible I guess. Like I said, cautiously optimistic after picking it up a notch from the last game. But realistically gloomy about what it means for us overall. Behind every pessimist is a disappointed idealist.

The only hope to beat teams in the playoffs that we lost to during the first few games
is that the defense will continue to develop and be even more experienced (Brooks) and dominate, and that the offense will have #80 back.
Texans 2011 Defense is evolving into an epic force to be reckoned with. I dub thee "Bayou Blitz" !!
