Open Game Day Thread: Second Quarter

I was going to write something witty here, but punting from the Jags' 37 and trying an inside handoff on 3rd & 21 has me beating my face against a wall.  Here's the second quarter thread.  Enjoy.

Jones should have made that catch. He tried to bread-basket catch that instead of reaching up and picking it out of the air. The difference between AJ and JJ right there.

by SubCrim on Oct 30, 2011 1:00 PM CDT reply actions

Yeah, Dre would've gotten it

but also a slightly farther throw prevents the corner from being able to make a play on it

by goingforthecorner on Oct 30, 2011 1:01 PM CDT up reply actions

That's what keeps JJ from being good

He makes mental mistakes that keep him from making catches. If he had gone up for it the corner would not have been a factor. No way you can put that on Schaub.

Yes, dammit.

Don’t bring reason into the debate at a time like this. I’m on a roll here.

Never use a metaphor, simile, or other figure of speech which you are used to seeing in print.
Never use a long word where a short one will do.
If it is possible to cut a word out, always cut it out.
Never use the passive where you can use the active.
Never use a foreign phrase, a scientific word, or a jargon word if you can think of an everyday English equivalent.
Break any of these rules sooner than say anything outright barbarous.

Just your average, run of the mill hardcore casual Texans fan.

I’m sure that there are people out there who violently disagree with me on most things, and I’m broad-minded enough to concede that they might possibly not be complete idiots, but I much prefer the company of people who agree with me."
