Neither of the above.

They travel to different countries and continents, and a big focus of the show is getting the racers to experience that country’s culture by making them do tasks and jobs usually done by the people in that country, such as rice farming or butter churning. Also, and this is one of the biggest differences with the show, 99% of the interaction by the racers (everyone but the host, basically) are with people unaffiliated with the show.

they are actually out in the real world, and other than the required challenges, nothing is manufactured.

Cutler gets a bad rap but I think he’s really good. Not to mention, the dude gets sacked more than anyone else in the league and when he’s not, he’s making plays off of his back foot. Yeah there was the incident in the NFC CG, but who really knows what happened there.

favorite story from it

Genghis Khan held a debate between a Buddhist monk, Muslim imam and Christian priest, but in traditional mongolian competitive style between each round the participants were required to drink a bowl of fermented mare’s milk. The debate ended with the monk in silent meditation, the imam reciting verses of the quran and the priest singing hymns.

2nd favorite was referenced above

sent a caravan packed with goods from conquered China to a neighbor to try to open up trade. They raided the caravan. Khan sent envoy’s to demand compensation for the stolen goods, all but one were blinded and returned. Khan launched an invasion sending half of his army around through what was thought to be a desert impassible to an army (with the help of local bandits to find Oasis’s) so while half his army harassed the enemy into drawing all their forces to the border, half his army rushed into the undefended heart of the country. The ruler fled, but was eventually tracked down, and on the Khan’s orders had molten silver poured into his eyes and ears.
