Matt Schaub Placed on IR; Texans Sign Kellen Clemens
Via Jason LaCanfora's Twitter feed, we learn Matt Schaub has, indeed, been placed on injured reserve, ending his season. In the same tweet, we learn Kellen Clemens has been signed as one of Matt Leinart's backups.

I've been pretty optimistic about the Matt Leinart Experience
but if it turns into the Kellen Clemens experience (or even the TJ Yates experience), we’re fucked.

Who doesn’t even notice Leinart is in the picture every time its posted?
I wish we could hire coaches without "having grown up in Houston" being a job requirement.
Actually Leinart reminds me a lot of my friend's brother

and will certainly be ready to rip the flesh off “Woah there MotherF*cker” Gabbert’s shoulder when he form tackles his pale ass this time instead of letting him step out of bounds.

I am a bit confused
As to how Kellen Clemens is the guy the Texans chose to sign.
Let’s hope Matty Light stays healthy!
I am also saddened that teh Schaub won’t be there for the playoffs – not so much that I think we would need him, but that he cannot participate.

I didn't even know he had spent time in little Shanny's offense
That helps to some extent. At least it wouldn’t be a total cluster fuck if he had to take a few snaps. Still, he’s a worst case scenario option at best. Yates will remain the #2.
I'm a man!! I'm forty!!
Kellen Clemens?
Hopefully TJ Yates is backup to Leinart now. I dont want to see Klemens near the field.
Honestly, I wanted Jeff Garcia. Always liked him.

Twas the day before Thanksgiving, when all through the site,
not a soul was in the hot tub, that dreadful night.
Schaub is officially out, with his foot labeled handle with care,
Dreaming of Playoffs, with hopes Matty lite could take us there.
Before week 10, SB talk was all the media chatter,
But then our dear QB was injured by a man that could not get any fatter.
Away to the blog I ran in a flash,
only to be side tracked by a video of a NT with an impressive mustache.
wasting time was my way of not dealing with the pain,
only Matty Lite’s play on Sunday could keep me sane.
No amount of opinions could help at all,
Our trusted QB won’t again touch the ball.
With a number one defense featuring a Honey Badger from Wisconsin,
not to mention our #2 run game, oh did I mention we’ll have Andre Johnson?
Now rest easy children, sleep all through the night,
with our team behind Leinart, we will be alright.

Conspiracy theory
So am I the only one who seems to think there’s something in the water of Houston? Between Yao Ming and Mcgrady for the Rockets, and people being always hurt for the Texans… I’m just saying Houston definitely has a problem, just as I had a problem trying not to use that overused joke
Unfortunatly
We can talk about it everyday all day but I would say that we will not have an acurate analysis on Matt L untill he has completed 3 Games. I THINK he will do just fine with our coaching and Talent. The main thing that i would focus on is, do not comit suicide if he bombs against Jax. give him a couple games at least to get his feet wet and get settled in. Come playoff time, i bet he will be dangerous.
ya but
we need him not to bomb in the game against Jax.. Beating them goes a lonnngg way towards securing a division championship, because it will put us at 4-0 in the division with the titans already having 2 division losses.. and if we win we go to 8-3 so even if the titans win theyd be 6-4, down 2 games (basicly 3 because of tie breakers) with only 5 to go. this game at Jax is pretty important if you ask me…

On Shaub to IR...
Unfortunate, but not unexpected. On that hot tub photo, all I can say is: That…lucky…BASTARD!!! On how Matt L will perform in his new role: ???? Oh! And if everything goes straight to hell and the bottom falls out: I’ll take Hwy 290…Westbound! :)
"It is possible to read the history of this country as one long struggle to extend the liberties established in our Constitution to everyone in America...Molly Ivins"
I think I have confidence in Matt
not that he’ll light the world on fire, but I think he’ll be much better than most other QB2s in the league. And I have confidence in Kubiak that he will work Wade Phillips-like magic with our biggest player out.
I still believe in my sig.
And on Clemens, if we hate on our QB4 we have gone pretty deep in our criticism of personnel. I think if Leinart goes down in the next 3 weeks, we will start the TJ Yates era a few years early.
At that point, I think we make the playoffs, but are one and done. With Leinart, I still see at least the AFC Championship game. And I’m stickin with that.
Leinart's 2011 final line: 6 wins, 3 losses. 12 TDs - 2 INTs, 2,100 yards with 62% completion.
I have full faith in Matty
I believe this 2nd chance will be Matty’s coming out party. Once he gets settled in, I believe he will really take the team far.
Leinhart is a smart, smart QB. He is young and has the physical tools. The one fear I have is that our Division rivals with a history of dirty play try to take him out to screw up our playoff chances.
Remember all the crap the Glitter Kitties have been talking?
Winning isn't the only thing, scoring is the best.
But if Leinart goes down
