Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

Open Thread: College Football (11/05/11)

Finally. It's here. The game of the college football year. That's right...Texas Tech v. Texas. 11 a.m. CDT. Austin, Texas. College football fans the world over can barely contain themselves.

Oh, and I hear that LSU and Alabama will square off tonight. How quaint.  For the players' sake, I hope people show up to watch them play.  Sure, that game's an afterthought to us, but it's a big deal to them.

This is your open thread for college football today.

Les Miles, the "genius".

The only things that have worked even partially are plays that stretch and go outside, yet he keeps going off tackle and up the middle over and over.

There's brutal, and then there's this.

Arkansas put up two TD’s on Bama at home, and LSU can’t manage one with multiple trips to the red zone.

You mean a guy not named Kareem who can notice an open receiver,

break off his assignment, close the gap from behind while the ball is in the air and rip the ball out of the receiver’s hands for a game-saving interception?

Yes, but isn't that the very point about how screwy the BCS is.

They can’t all play in the more powerful conferences, so they get screwed by that strength of schedule crap. Maybe different rules, but certainly rules biased to keep big schools big and small schools small.

There should be a playoff system.

But since their isn’t Boise doesn’t deserve a NC slot if they are always going to be playing weak teams in a weak conference. Maybe once they move to the big East they’ll prove otherwise.
