Monday Night Football: Open Thread (Steelers v. 49ers)

A Steelers loss here could benefit your Houston Texans in their quest for a first-round bye, so there shouldn't be a whole lot of debate as to who the Texans' fan base should be rooting for. I can't imagine longtime Houston fans would have any problem cheering against Pittsburgh anyway.

So, uh, put your hopes and dreams in the hands of Alex Smith, and wish for the best. The comments await your input. This is your MNF open thread. Enjoy.

Quick question...

Baltimore is currently 7-3 against AFC opponents and we are 8-2. So if we win out it doesn’t matter if ravens do too right? We would have tie breaker over them?

We’d still be #3, since if they win they’ve got a better record than we do, and if they lose ravens jump them in the division and they’re ahea in the tiebreak

Twice in four weeks I came home to a dozen AT&T trucks on my street with the techs standing around shooting the breeze

Each one individually dispatched for single home outage calls. Service was out for two days both times for the fibre distribution system being down.

1. Why don’t they have customer service correlation software to recognize an area wide outage so they don’t dispatch half their fleet?

2. They need better equipment for distributing the signal.

3. There’s nothing between my dish and the orbiting satellite except a rare large storm a couple of times a year.

Just when I thought we’d seen the worst of system issues with AT&T, the local road expansion crews for Harris County cut through the fibre line to our neighborhood and we were down again for two days. So tired of this crap.

#3 in reference to going back to direct tv

We were with them for 9 years and it was great. Tried uverse thinking fibre tech was better, but that Sat signal was great. We really only had a few minimal interruptions a year fir super big storms.

Kubiak: "The hand gestures I'm getting as I drive around town are a lot better this year than in previous seasons."

Funny.

Southwestern Bell (come on, AT&T is gone) is the PHONE company, but I can’t remember the last time I had a significant outage on the landline. Actually, I don’t remember the last outage, period. How come they can’t provide that level of service for Uverse?

#if RANT
This is exactly why I still have an old fashioned landline. The phone grid pretty much never goes down. The same can’t be said for cable and other VOIP providers. When they can deliver that kind of uptime, I will consider a move.

I don't think so.

NE is the clear #1 right now. Baltimore and Pittsburgh are in the same division, so whichever is #2 in their division is eliminated from the tie before it gets down to us. So we are #3.

That was, assuming Baltimore is #1 in the division we are #3 seed.

yup

The Ravens have a pretty good shot at losing in week 17 vs the playoff hungry Bengals in Cincy, and The Stealers have 2 pie teams in the Rams and the Browns

Just need to sweep up the Dolts and the BESFS and a loss by the Patriots or Ravens and we get a bye

Don't need another loss by the Ravens, just a loss by the Pats

Another loss by the Ravens would just put them at the #5 seed. As long as there’s a 3 way tie, We’d have the advantage in the conference record

I think we will get a bye

I feel it

As of now, A Patriots or Ravens loss would give us a first round bye

However a Ravens loss would only give us the #2 seed, while a Patriots loss would give us the #1 seed
