Andre Johnson Will Not Play Against Colts On Thursday Night
While it would have been far more surprising to hear that he would play on Thursday night, word is that Andre Johnson will in fact miss yet another contest when the Texans play the Colts in two days. Adjust your fantasy football lineups--if you're still somehow competing for a league championship without the guy who you presumably drafted to be your WR1--accordingly.
Here's hoping 'Dre is able to play against Tennessee in the regular season finale so he can shake some of the rust off before the first playoff game in franchise history.

According to pancakes
He is held out just to be safe. He could play but theyve decided to give him an extra 10 days just because they can.
Swede that like the Houston Texans and Chelsea FC
I agree with this.
We don’t shouldn’t need him in this game, and we WILL need him in the playoffs. It’s rough to see ’Dre missing so many games in a season when they finally break through as a team.

Except that he's rusty as hell and would benefit from game action
Not to mention his lack of timing with T.J.

I completely agree
Until he develops that connection, and gets back to game form, he won’t produce like he did pre-injury. I understand resting him, but I’d really like to see him get some work in to at least get back in game shape.
My thoughts are like Brian Cushing on the field: Everywhere.
You can't risk it. That would be dumb
Of course you want him to get game reps with TJ, but he can play in the Titans game and then be ready for the Playoffs

Good points.
Would ten plays in this game and the next be enough to get rest and knock off rust?
Man I wonder how bad things are for his legs for them to hold him out.

I think there timing is better than we all think.
Especially since they’ve been working together for most of the season during dre’s injury. Against the Falcons, he had damn near 100 in less than 3 quarters and woulda had near 120 if he didn’t drop another. Personally, I think there timing will be fine and chemistry will be fine. I just want him at 100%

Timing in rehab and timing in a game aren't the same
Not to mention playoff action is that much tougher. We all saw how rusty Dre looked his first game back.
I’m just saying I wouldn’t expect him to be in full beast mode right away. He needs game reps.
Hopefully he gets some good work against the BE-SF’s.

The only things im worried about with Dre
Is his hammy’s and the seperation he’s getting. I’m way more worried about his seperation than the timing between him and yates. All of this will come in time, just hoping he makes some big progress in the next few weeks.

Whether or not he is in game shape, opposing teams still have to game plan for him, and that opens up the running game as well as the shorter routes.
If he reinjures and is ruled out for a playoff game, we’d have no deep threat the opponents have to plan for.
The extra time
is good for both hamstrings, why rush him back and risk it?
I would love seeing him back against Tennessee to put yet another beatdown on that damn leprechaun

I like this
Rain down hell on the BE-SF and go into the playoffs to go Larry Fitzgerald on some folks. And yes that is my prediction for the playoffs. Andre WILL NOT be stopped and we will ride him to Lucas Oil in February.
Madame de Staël once said, "One must choose in life between boredom and suffering." De Staël is dead but there is always an alternative.
This is where the cool is.
He can probably run a 4.1 and jump 50in off the ground come playoff time.
I just hope he isn’t so fired up that he takes off 15 yds down field pre-snap.
I know we don't need him for the Colts game
But this is frustrating for everyone. Including Dre.

That Dre is strengthening his hammys’ by doing bum busters and tightening his booty cheeks and releasing……tighten…..release…….tighten……release…….

I think all of us would like to have Andre play this game and get some rust off,
but the risk here is not having him in the playoffs. I much rather we have a rusty Andre that opposing teams still have to game plan for, then seeing “OUT: Andre Johnson (hamstring)” on the injury report for our first playoff game.
He waited this long, it would just be too crushing that the team got him in the playoffs and he can’t play.
it is all good
save it for the playoffs dre
