you have a point brother.

I think Cody fits our scheme, and we can do well with lighter nose tackles. While I do believe the Texans are going to draft a NT in the 1st this year, I think using a pick as insurance, while also sliding in Butler as right tackle and moving Winston in for guard might be a natural fit for both and help improve the line.

by wiseonekms on Dec 4, 2011 9:58 PM CST up reply actions

No they won't

With Andre’s injuries, WR will be the #1 priority. Also it makes no sense to draft a 2 down player in the first round. I say 3rd round is where we draft a NT

WAT.
That being said, I think it all depends on Home Field. Apparently, Matt Ryan is significantly better in the Georgia Dome, so I’m not sure. If they play like they played today, though, I think my High School’s team could have beaten them. And we were winless this year.

I know it would be better for us to lose for the draft

4-1 from here on out is definitely a thing that I could see happening for you guys. Hopefully you guys go ahead and beat the BE-SF’s for us, at the very least.
That being said, I just don’t see you guys beating Atlanta in the Georgia Dome, assuming the media hasn’t overhyped their home-field advantage significantly (hint: it has.)

by T-Moar on Dec 4, 2011 8:44 PM CST up reply actions

Key is to get a lot of pressure on Matt Ryan. He has happy feet. MJD will need to have a good game. You guys already have a really good defense.

It's actually Pink Floyd's fault, but they get a pass.

They will not allow their music on stations that have a commercial supported on-demand playlist format, such as Spotify and Grooveshark. As far as I know, they are on Pandora, and Slacker (I subscribe to those two).

yeah, that is just what I heard regarding their reasoning.

Maybe they meant that statement particularly toward younger people who are just getting to know them, where as on the radio it’s people who grew up listening to them.

Like, if you don’t know who they are, they don’t want you to hear just one song, they want you to hear their albums in entirety.

by T-Moar on Dec 4, 2011 9:30 PM CST up reply actions

That happened a while back, and they've gone through two other lead singers before getting to their current one
Plans for a subsequent tour ended when Perry injured his hip while hiking in Hawaii in the summer of 1997, and could not perform without hip replacement surgery – which he for some time refused to undergo. In 1998, Schon and Cain decided to seek a new lead singer, at which point drummer Steve Smith left the band as well.
In July 2006, Steve Augeri was dropped from the band while they toured with Def Leppard, with the official statement citing a “chronic throat infection.” Augeri had been suffering from vocal attrition problems since 2003 and Journey had been accused of using pre-recorded lead vocals. The band hired singer Jeff Scott Soto from Talisman to fill in, and Soto officially replaced Augeri as Journey’s lead singer in December 2006. On June 12, 2007, the band announced that Soto was no longer the lead singer, and said that they were looking to move in a new direction.

In December 2007, Journey hired Filipino singer Arnel Pineda of the cover band The Zoo after Neal Schon saw him on YouTube singing covers of Journey songs. Their next album, Revelation, debuted at No.5 on the Billboard charts, selling more than 196,000 units in its first two weeks and staying in the top 20 for 6 weeks. Journey also found success on billboard’s adult contemporary chart where the single “After All These Years” spent over 23 weeks, peaking at number 9. Receipts from the 2008 tour made Journey one of the top grossing concert tours of the year, bringing in over $35,000,000. On December 18, 2008, Revelation was certified platinum by RIAA. The band’s second album with Pineda, Eclipse, was released on May 24, 2011, and debuted at No.13 on the Billboard 200 chart. Journey will release their second greatest hits compilation titled Journey: Greatest Hits: Volume 2 which will feature songs picked by former frontman Steve Perry and it will be made available in November 2011.

Was an awesome game to be at today.

It was so loud, loved seeing the crowd get even louder when Matt Ryan was doing audibles. TJ Yates looked very impressive to me. Had zip on his passes, juked out so many defenders and threw some long balls today. Even when Dre went down, the ball was thrown very far. Was extremely impressed with the play action play where he slipped and still recovered for a 50 yard pass. I think it’s about time we get some luck and instead of a minor injury ending up being serious, we get a serious injury being minor. You owe us football gods…

Nope, and I don't believe FO will want either one of them. Smith already mentioned not wanting a circus in town when talking about Favre.

It wouldn’t be the first time this season we lost Andre, we didn’t need to sign anyone then we shouldn’t need to now. Plus, those guys (Moss and TO) are the worst type of WRs to have when you’re fielidng a rookie QB.

by jkcheng122 on Dec 4, 2011 10:29 PM CST up reply actions

Typically

I’d say, “yes” to the TO suggestion, but..not this time man. We have a young QB, we can’t poison his brain with an outside force. We gotta roll with what we have. Plus, while I love Moss’s vertical threat, our receivers NEED to block. He won’t. End of story.

completely random

but, I’m kinda getting annoyed with everyone on BRB hating on Kareem Jackson. After watching him and many other corners this week, I’ve come to the conclusion that he isn’t anywhere near as bad as we all think. It’s like, until the guy has a “6 int, 2 pick 6, completely shuts down every receiver on the field” kinda game, we’re not gonna give him any credit. Does he make mistakes? sure. Is he slower than you’d like for a bump/run corner? yes. But, is he playing competently, making big plays in crucial times and looking like a VAST improvement from last year? YES. And it’s time we gave him some love.

I still think he’d make a better safety, actually, I think he’d make a pretty GOOD safety. His instincts are quite good, he’s an above average hitter, and he has more potential to grow. Truly, the only reason we think he’s “bad,” is because we have preconceived notions from last year, and EVERY time he makes a mistake, we dwell on that one mistake for the entire game b/c it might’ve been a 20 yard catch, and then say: “he sux,” forgetting the fact he’s a 2nd year player.

I actually do believe that Wade will move him to safety, and make Allen our #2, but for now, I think it’s time we here at BRB stopped being complete haters when it comes to KJax. He’s getting better: let’s acknowledge it.

by wiseonekms on Dec 4, 2011 10:28 PM CST reply actions

yaya, either a backup safety

or maybe a dime corner/backup corner. I know he’s still the #2 corner, but he can kinda be like Quin: a roamer in different packages. I think he actually has the versatility, bro.

And, I know many people do it in jest, but sometimes, I see people actually state it like fact: that he sux. Which I find disturbing.

by wiseonekms on Dec 4, 2011 10:33 PM CST up reply actions

No

I wrote a pro-Kareem treatise on him just a couple weeks ago. Since then, he has gone out of his way to prove me wrong.

Just look at the TD we gave up today. Jackson was playing man while we were in zone coverage. Mistakes like that are completely inexcusable. He didn’t see a single snap after that until Allen was concussed. Then, I believe every pass went his direction. I haven’t seen the final play with any fineness thanks to Fox sucks, but it looks like we got lucky.

Do I agree he’s improved? Yes. Is he an NFL caliber CB? No.

A Texans fan. Really. No, I'm not kidding.

by bigfatdrunk on Dec 4, 2011 10:35 PM CST up reply actions

ok

I know what you’re getting at, but it’s a mistake that happens even to the best teams. It was a busted coverage, sometimes we dwell too much on a player’s mistakes rather than his positives. He had some big hits, an int, and towards the end, we were playing a prevent type of defense neways, so, obviously they’re going to throw it Kareem’s direction and not JJo’s.

Also, Jones was triple covered on that last play, he had a shot to bring it in, but Demps was gonna pop that right out even if he managed to muster some sort of control. Kareem is up and down, I’ll agree there, but I think saying he’s not an NFL caliber corner is very extreme. He’s good enough to be a backup, and probably is a better natural fit for safety.

by wiseonekms on Dec 4, 2011 10:42 PM CST up reply actions

Pretty much this.

He’s improved since last year, yes, but he was fucking terrible last year. I would argue that he’s mainly looking better due to an improved pass rush making everyone in the secondary look better. Opposing QBs pick on him pretty consistently, and with good reason. He can’t seem to defend anything without drawing a flag.

by JBal on Dec 4, 2011 10:45 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

ya but to be fair to him

he draws a lot of flags strictly out of reputation. Like, if he’s matched up against a good wr, and he gets even remotely physical and the wr misses the catch and gets all dramatic for a flag, they’re going to throw it, whether it was PI or not. This happened quite a few times this year. He gets flagged every now and then, but let’s not lie to ourselves that JJo and Revis get away with ALOT more physical play.

Perfect example of this happening: the pass interference they called on Glover on Tony Gonzales. lol, Gonzales runs him over and pushes the dude’s helmet outta the way, and Quin gets flagged. Reputation plays a BIG part in this.

by wiseonekms on Dec 4, 2011 10:49 PM CST up reply actions

Yes, reputation. And, you know, interfering with his receiver.

We got hurt by Yates’s reputation for fumbling today too, so I’m definitely not in an official-defending mood.

by JBal on Dec 4, 2011 10:53 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

I'm just saying.

there has been improvement and there are a decent amount of times when a receiver’s lobbying gets them the call if KJax is even remotely physical. He’s not “great,” but, I’m at least happy to see some drastic improvement.

But still a three way tie of 9-3

CBS is doing it wrong.

Pats and Texans have 4-way tiebreaker over the Ravens and Steelers due to AFC record. Head-to-head doesn’t come into it until it’s down to 2 teams and the Pats/Texans haven’t played each other.

Texans are in 2nd place.

by Karsh on Dec 4, 2011 10:34 PM CST up reply actions

No, the Pats and Texans only have a 3-way tiebreaker with the Ravens.

Steelers are out of the tiebreaker because they aren’t winning the division.

I don't think so

Pats have one out-of-conference game. All the Texans’ games are in conference, as are the Ravens. Since there is no head to head between Texans and Pats, Texans win 1st seed if they read as 3 way tie prioritizing from top to bottom, but if they prioritize from bottom to top, then Texans are #3 seed.

The Texans won't win a tiebreaker against the Pats

Otherwise, New England wouldn’t have overtaken Houston today.

Both conference records are the same…..if both teams win out….nothing will change.

The Ravens will eventually, if they all win out, tie in conference record and that’ll go to Baltimore.

The Texans can’t win a tiebreaker at 13-3.

Their LB play seemed to be outstanding all game. The d-line is who seemed to fail them late, especially on Edwards’ side after he was hurt. Also, their S play was also excellent. It’s hard to see who deserves the credit/blame in the first 3-ish Qs/last Q.

That being said, I feel that the refs were horrible in that game. I understand those cheap shots and behavioral penalties by the Lions were uncalled for, but they were sparked by those terrible calls by the refs. Those offensive pass interference penalties were BS. Talk about some home-cookin. Saints would have still won anyways, it just seemed those refs were just lookin to throw the yellow out against Detroit. I think Suh is partially to blame for that. Refs are keyed-in on late hits and after the whistle junk when the Lions are playing…
