A couple of days ago, John over at Texans Bull Blog wrote a story where he ranked the players on the Texans based on their future production over the next 3-5 years. I disagreed with some of his rankings/thoughts, so I made a list of my own and decided to share it with you guys. Keep in mind, this is only an evaluation of the player; contract and positional value aren't considered.

1. Andre Johnson -Obvious

2. Matt Schaub

3. Arian Foster

Very Good

4. Mario Williams - underwhelming lately, but still a very good DE, which is hard to find

5. Brian Cushing

6. Demeco Ryans - Assuming he's still the same after the injury

7. Owen Daniels - injury prone but impressive when healthy

Above average

8. Wade Smith - played very well last year

9. Duane Brown - played better last year, could still improve going into 4th year

10. Connor Barwin- more on potential than anything he's done so far

11. Eric Winston

12. Antonio Smith

13 Chris Myers

14 Glover Quin- could be a good corner or a very good free safety

15 Vonta Leach

Average

16. Mike Brisiel

17.   Earl Mitchell- I think he could be a pretty good player in the next couple of years

18.   Jacoby Jones- Inconsistent, tantalizing. May not be here next year

19.   Kevin Walter- steady but unspectacular

20.   James Casey- Would be ranked higher, but it's hard to see him being doing too much as a 2nd TE

21.   Ben Tate- Could be a really good backup

22.   Kareem Jackson- hard to tell how good he's going to become; could be legit starter one day

Below average

23.   Shelley Smith- the guys at Texans Bull Blog love him... has lots of potential

24.   Daryl Sharpton

25.   Antoine Caldwell

26.   Amobi Okoye

27.   Shaun Cody -good backup to future NT

28.   Joel Dreesen- good depth, but possibly third string

29.   Dorin Dickerson- Could become starter eventually

30.   Garret Graham- hard to tell where he fits in
