AllenOU never heard from RED56, so he turned in the pick on his own. That probably explains why it read "Quentin Griffin" at first. His corrected selection for the Chiefs awaits you after the jump.
If you take a look at the chief needs of the Chiefs, they really should be looking at three main positions--OLB, NT, and WR. Some Kansas City fans would say the need at NT isn’t great, but with Phil Taylor on the board, I think they might take a look. They could also have their choice of the third best WR, who I believe is Torrey Smith. I'm not huge on either of those two guys at 21, so without further ado…
In a pretty big surprise, the Chiefs select Brooks Reed (DE--Arizona) with the 21st pick of the 2011 BRB Mock Draft.
Reed weighs in at around 265 lbs., and had the fastest 10 yard split of any D-lineman ever at the NFL Combine, about 0.5 seconds slower than Clay Matthews. He kind of reminds me of Brandon Graham from Michigan. I think he will be a perfect complement to Tamba Hali, and even though this could be considered a reach, I think this would be a solid pick for KC.
***I was surprised Tampa Bay didn’t pick Justin Houston, but that would not have changed the pick for the Chiefs.***
Intrigue abounds, does it not? Your thoughts, BRB?
Our resident posse of Colts fans is now on the clock on behalf of their beloved squad. I trust they will find the time to e-mail me a pick and some analysis by 7 p.m. CDT tonight, in between their calls to canonize Brad Stevens.
