Does anybody remember our pass defense last year? Or have you gone to a doctor to have those memories erased? Before you jump, take a gander at Antwaun Molden's scouting report and see how dead-on accurate it turned out to be.
Much like drafting the sixth tight end for your roster, drafting a cornerback who can't actually cover is a bad thing. So, this alleged cornerback has a grand total of 35 (!!!) defensive snaps over three years, garnering a whopping total of two tackles in those snaps. Considering he has 28 combined tackles in his career, this means 26 of these came on special teams. You can't spend a 3rd Round pick on a not-so-special special teams player.
Worst of all, while our defensive backs were melting down like a stick of butter on I-10 last year, Molden was nowhere to be found. And if Molden couldn't break into the secondary last year, into one of the worst secondaries in NFL history, is there any reason to believe he justifies his 3rd Round pick status?
There's been a lot of discussion as to what qualifies as a bust. Antwaun Molden is a bust.
Next three picks after Molden: Bryan Smith, Philadelphia Eagles; Early Doucet, Arizona Cardinals, DaJuan Morgan, Kansas City Chiefs. The 3rd and 4th rounds were incredibly productive in the draft.

Okay, now that I have built up my expectations....BUST!

You get 1 point
For guessing him on the last thread. You can use that point and redeem it for a BRB t-shirt at your leisure.

Just one point
What’s a t-shirt worth; about 3,000 points?
I’m going to take a stab at No. 6 on your list and guess Vernand Morency, only because we are running out of 3rd rounders that didn’t pan out into superstars. I can think of possibly two others in that draft range, but I’ll throw Vernand in there because he was drafted when the Texans needed a RB and he couldn’t even beat out Ron Dayne.

I'll be stunned if Tony Hollings doesn't make the list.

I have a plan, and it's so cunning you can brush your teeth with it!
Why anyone thought he was more than a 5th rounder
I have no idea. He has got to be a bust for a 3rd rounder! Just because of the scouting report.

Throwing my hat out there
I’m going to have to go ahead and guess Jason Babin as top failure based on what we gave up for him. I think the fact that he played well for beezlebud’s army makes him an even further bust for the Texans.
and Coogman Sam downs a whole twelv-pack of Bud Light on one post!
Ding! Ding1 Ding!

You know...
I’m failing to see why Carr gets a pass in this scenario, while Babin (and I assume Travis Johnson) are going to get roasted.
I just don’t see the distinction there. But we shall discuss that soon, I’m sure.
You know...
You could go do a FanPost of your own, and it wouldn’t offend me in the least. This is fun, I have to admit.

I can't write a scholarly, objective article on Carr.
It just degenerates into a hate-filled rant about how he made Houston football nigh unwatchable for years. It’s just… too soon. The wounds haven’t healed.

Write the hate-filled rant then
Let the wound bleed all over the screen…. to not do that would be cheating us of the truth.

My therapist told me not to.
Every time I’m reminded of David Carr taking snaps for the Texans, I’m supposed to look at a photo of adorable kittens until the rage subsides.

I believe we have a title for the article ^^
If the Treasury Secretary doesn't have to pay taxes, then why do I?
I think you have to weigh what we gave up for him vs. performance
I never thought he was that bad for us. He did have 14 sacks in 43 career games, which is way more than anyone else we have had for a three year period other than Mario. Marginal for the 27th overall pick, but man did we give up a lot for him. To give us another kick in the pants, we traded him in because we put Anthony Weaver in his spot.
Still can't wait to see where Babin and Travis Johnson end up
Obviously Tony Boselli has got to be number 1.
I wonder if Charles Spencer makes the list? He had some serious potential. Does he get knocked for being injured?
And what about the Evil Genius?
This will be interesting.
Didn't do the expansion draft
I thought about including it, but I decided against it. No real rationale aside from it wasn’t directly April draft related.
No Evil Genius. 6th rounder is too low to pick on. Plus, if anybody could, he could take revenge on me.

Does this take supplemental draft players into consideration?

Because of its direct impact on the April Draft?
Yes, yes it does.

Oops
Also, no Barbaro. I couldn’t bring myself to add him. Plus, he worked so freaking hard to come back, I respect him too much for that.

The guy was good
Yes, injuries are part of the game, but he was kickass while he was healthy.
I didn't do anything wrong!.... and, I won't do it again.
Indeed.
Imagine how differently things could have gone for Spencer and the Texans. Plus they wouldn’t have needed to spend a 1st Rounder on Duane Brown.

Unfortunately for him, he's the dead horse we beat on when we draft more TEs
