Bumped to the front page
Dunno what DeMeco will look like on the field, but it’s good news to hear that his rehab continues to go well and that he’s medically cleared in time for camp.
"Lord, beer me strength."
Excellent.
He’s only the most crucial piece to our defensive puzzle.
I am hoping he is "good as new."

demeco is the centerpiece to this d.
the defense looked lost last year with out the capt. and when cushing got thrown into the role he was lost completely. Hopefully he is well enough to continue leading the d as well as play at the high level we have seen in the past. He has been running the d offseason playerled camps so he hasn’t lost his touch there.

God blessed Texas, but he has forsaken the Texans
We need DeMeco to be his old self this year.
Especially since Cush is a giant wildcard.

80% is what we should hope for
100% by week one isn’t realistic

Agree - if Meco is 100% anytime before week 6, it is lagniappe
Typically takes a full year to heal from an achilles tear
It took the Astros 44 years to get to the Series, the Oilers-Texans are OVERDUE to get to the playoffs, much less the big big dance...Go Texans!!!!!

Maybe if he is 80 %, he won't do so much ball-watching and he will focus on coverage on passing downs....
I didn't do anything wrong!.... and, I won't do it again.
Let's hope he's better at ILB than he was last year at MLB.
Welcome to Houston, J.J. Watt, Brooks Reed, Brandon Harris, Rashad Carmichael, Shiloh Keo, T.J. Yates, Derek Newton, and Cheta Ozougwu!
I know... he was almost invisible

Still better than the rest of the defenders.

way better
he didn’t allow a single pass completion in coverage and hhad ZERO missed tackles. that’s more than I can say for the people that, you know, played.
...and not one single batted ball for a game-winning TD either...

Great
Can’t wait to see him on the field.
and the clouds opened up and God said "I Hate you Texans Fans."
Luckily
The lockout hasn’t really let him get left behind due to rehab, so he should be right along with everyone else’s education. Whoever said “fingers crossed” at the top nailed it. How’s that for lazy, that I can’t even scroll up 15 or so comments to look?
Bacon tastes good... Pork chops taste good.
That was me
Even though he’s cleared to play it still remains to be seen how the tendon will hold up to fast action on the field. I’m certain there will be some soreness once he really starts to put it through the motions, plus a lot of athletes will have hamstring problems and other issues from over compensation of the original injury.
That said, it’s great to have him medically cleared with plenty of time to work out the kinks. I doubt he’ll be full speed but its a big plus having him out there.
I'm a man!! I'm forty!!
No diggity
The doctors don’t take clearing a dude lightly, so that’s a good sign. Way better than many of us had hoped. I’m sure they’ll continue monitoring him so they can limit the other effects. Either way, getting this news now is eleventy million times better than him having to go on the PUP and wait almost half the season to even start practice.
Bacon tastes good... Pork chops taste good.
i have heard people question his size and strength...
but, one play stood out to me last year to answer their doubts. when brandon jacobs tried running up the middle and Meco planted vs a bull charging 265 lb. beast and stopped him dead in his tracks. jacobs didn’t even get an inch further once hit by Meco. here’s to hoping Meco will be capable of doing that this year.
Don't ask me! Ask Google, you dumb Yahoo!
That requires a lot of lower body strength
He may have trouble with that this year, but he’s a great wrap up tackler so as long as he can slow the runner down long enough for Cush to get there we’ll be in good shape.
I'm a man!! I'm forty!!
Tangent
So, DeMeco thanks god for the healing. I’m cool with that. Here’s what I don’t get about athletes: if you are going to thank god for helping you heal quickly, don’t you kind of have to blame him for allowing you to get hurt in the first place? I mean, if he cares enough about your knee that he’s healing you, why didn’t he care enough to prevent your injury in the first place.
I’m not trying to turn this into a theological debate or anything. It just always baffles me when players (or anyone, really) thanks a deity for the good things that happen but does not also blame him for the bad things.
/tangent

Maybe its the demons or evil spirits that cause injury?
Hmmm…

Thought about that...
but couldn’t those same demons or evil spirits derail your healing?

I blame Jesus
For all the close losses last year. That jerk really wouldn’t give us a break.
Yes...as a matter of fact, that IS a pic of Steve McNair & Sahel Kazemi parasailing. Suck it, Titans fans.

well in judeo-christia-islamic beliefs
god is the reason good things happen, but if bad things happen it is because he knows you can handle it. Now if this was aztec, ancient greco-roman, native american, etc religions there is a specific diety to blame for misfortune. I for one am in the same boat as many of the foundig fathers diest. God created the world but everything that has happened since is because we made it so.

Ok, then...
if God helps you heal, rather than letting you handle it on your own, wouldn’t that mean that he doesn’t think you can handle it? Seems odd to say that you can handle blowing out a tendon, but you can’t handle the rehab and whatnot yourself. Because, if you couldn’t handle the rehab, then you couldn’t really handle the injury in the first place, no?

It's supposed to be
You thank God for the good, and pray for help during the bad as he gives you trials to overcome through life. The reasons for the trials is to test your faith in him and show you can overcome obstacles with his help or through your own strength.
As to your question, God hates the Texans. It’s the only explanation.
/no religion
Canal Street Chronicles-A place of great Saints news and information. Oh and the stuff I write!
"I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose...Rapture!"
He gives you trials
and the reason for these trials is to test your faith in him (i.e. will you pray for his help to get through them)? This version of god sounds a lot like a girlfriend I had in high school, always jealous and wanting me to prove that I liked her.
Anyway, yeah … /no religion, indeed.

you can't apply logic to faith
If you could there would be no need for the faith part

The "injury bug"
May just be a friendly way of saying our locker room didn’t get blessed this offseason.
Well, shit...
disregard my pathetic, linkless comment below. No wonder you’re a coordinator and I’m a lowly bitch.

I figured since he plays in Buffalo....
