Matt Schaub Lobbying for Nnamdi Asomugha
Via PFT, and in a statement of the obvious, Teh Schaub would rather have Nnamdi as a teammate rather than throw against him. 30 other quarterbacks agree. Rusty Smith scratches his head in a vain attempt to understand just what the heck is going on.

And in related news
Texans fans are lobbying against him because they don’t want to spend money that isn’t theirs.
: )

I read the comments...
and they mad me angry… The texans are seen as a second rate team. I understand why, but they discount our offense. “why would nnamdi go to houston when it would be much like oakland?” well does oakland have a top tier offense I think not.

God blessed Texas, but he has forsaken the Texans
They look at us because of our flaws each year.
Kicker one year, Defense next, who knows. we can never seem to put it together. I think we gave up on pollard to early. i honestly think we could have been setup better if he was here to go along with Nnamdi,Glover, and Kareem.
Good point.
While fortunately we fix our flaws every single offseason, something entirely different in turn becomes not just a flaw but a glaring weakness.
so true
it seems like we have trouble from week to week also. There has been games were the defense looked pretty good but we couldnt do shit with the ball on offense or our kicker misses field goals or somthing fucking stupid happens. If we could play four quarters of consistent football that would eliminate alot of our problems.
yea you are right it seems more like week to week.
I don’t know what it is, seem like any other NFL team can come out week in and week out and play. I have never felt like we where comfortable until that clock hit 00:00 in the fourth quarter and we are winning. Thats a sad feeling for any fan.
i see it everyday
other fans trying to say our team is terrible and couldnt possibly win 10 games next year because we never have before…i mean i saw a browns fan saying our team isnt going anywhere, a browns fan!

Well, they'd have been right every year so far.
I don’t like seeing guys like Andre and Arian slighted, but the Texans haven’t done a thing to deserve respect. Until they actually post a respectable season, we’ll just have to deal with it.
i guess
but i mean when i hear stuff like “mario williams is a bust” and “eli manning/jay cutler are better than matt schaub” or “our defense doesn’t have enough talent”, well that gets annoying as hell…
mel kiper said we were his dark horse team to win the superbowl, so the talent is there…i honestly thing that we have the talent to be a really good defensive team…we might even have the best linebacker core in the NFL
by Samarth Sulhan on Jul 8, 2011 5:10 PM CDT up reply actions
I dunno if I want Kiper backing us but ok
As for the others stuff, any talk like that is just retarded and I don’t pay it any attention. It’s a waste of time debating anybody that says Mario is a bust.
I'm a man!! I'm forty!!
Well, I tend to agree with the last one...
The first has certainly been debunked, though.
I would agree with the defensive talent too, but
It was a lack of coaching talent. We’ve got a lot of studs, and if Wade can’t turn them into a respectable unit then I’ll be convinced that Houston is just cursed……and it’s all Frank Reich’s fault.
I'm a man!! I'm forty!!
I agree
I think our biggest problem on defense has been the coaching and the coaches decision making. its why our players regress. Its why our players don’t play to their strengths.
I think Wade has a different philosophy. The philosophy us fans are looking for. Lets hope.
You mean the QB or the Colts QB coach
Either one has been haunting us for decades

Both
It started with the QB and has carried over. The man is evil and must be taken down.

Everyone is waiting for us to show them something before they jump on the bandwagon
I'm a man!! I'm forty!!
I was complaining about the bandwagon fans this time last year
I went to 4 games when we were 2-14. Two more than I could afford. I consider myself a diehard.
Same here
As sad as it is to admit, we have an overall losing record when I attend games. But I’ve seen some great ones so I guess it balances out.

Houston is consistently ignored by national media, so most people have no clue how good we are.
They know about AJ because he’s a consensus first rounder in their fantasy draft, but they have no idea that he’s so awesome that he almost made David Carr look semi-legit (despite CArr’s best efforts to the contrary) and even when he messes up and fouls a guy, his magic ninja powers just make it look like a great play.
You also have to think about it: you know the whole “high character” thing that we joke about? Well, name the last basket case the city has had in sports (Roger Clemens doesn’t count because his personal crap was nowhere near the fan during the 05 run).
To the national media that would rather focus on Chad 85’s twitter page than breaking down Arian Foster’s field vision or Kevin Walter’s great run-blocking skills, we are a boring town.

And its not just sports. Houston is ignored across the board.
I will say that, since you brought him up, I think Ochocinco is good for the game and his antics are light hearted and funny. Kind of like if T.O. wasn’t a douche nozzle.
Agreed on Ocho
He’s a likable version of T.O. It still gets old though because he hasn’t proven anything. As individually talented as he is, his team still fails. But you gotta admit, if it weren’t for Ocho nobody would give a shit about the Bengals.
I'm a man!! I'm forty!!
No kidding, hell I feel sorry for their players as is
I mean, who would want to play in the Paul Brown Minimum Security Prison anyways?

even better than Scrabble being on our defense...
WE all know he is one of two guys in the NFL that can somewhat clamp down on AJ.
Do you realize if we sign him that AJ practices against him all week every week?
If you can watch Denis Quaid in The Rookie pitch 95-mph fastballs at high-school kids and, after enough practice, they can hit them…imagine if, after enough practice, AJ becomes so good that even Scrabble cant stop him…
That’s right. Not only can he shut down one half of the field…
…he could make AJ even better than he already is.

And 'Dre can make Nnamdi better too
I agree with you. Nnamdi is friends with ’Dre and much like him he is an elite player and a stand up guy.
I fail to see how breaking the bank for Nnamdi is any sort of bad idea. I think it would be the biggest Houston sports move in a decade. It would reinvigorate the fanbase, increase our national exposure and let me just go over the top for a moment… it would make us Super Bowl Contenders. Add Wade Phillips expertise and Nnamdi’s shut down skills in one offseason and problem = fixed.

But how does it apply to K-Jax?

One of the things I find kind of funny
are all the Raiders fans thinking they’re going to somehow retain Scrabble.
It’d be even funnier if they did! Imagine it, some obscure clause in his contract allows him to hold them by the nuts until whatever obscene amount of money he could possibly dream of lands on his face.
If this scenario were ‘Dre suddenly becoming a free agent due to Rick Smith’s incompetence I can only imagine the backlash from our fanbase. It would likely not be deemed a “mediocre” reaction, that’s for sure.
No kidding
Besides, aren’t they still cash strapped by Purple Drank’s contract? They gave him a shit load of up front money I think, and I haven’t heard much lately about them trying to get any back.

It is just funny that teh Schaub Had to say something about Nnamdi

Yeah what a slacker
He could easily make more headlines by donating 108k to Texas Children’s Hospital or even taking it a step further by convincing everyone he actually wants to be involved instead of just dumping charity monies.
Might not make headlines, but for someone to whom Houston is not his first home he sure does a lot to impact our community. Same with Andre. His real home is Miami, but look at what h has done for our city. We’re blessed to have these guys, headlines or not.
The interesting thing? Nnamdi would fit right in with all this. He is very charitable too.
Oh yeah?
I figured that out :)

And believe me when I say it, my inside source is as good as Peter King’s inside source, the Houston Texans are at the very top of the list for where Nnamdi will end up!

Watch Rick Smith lowball his ass then & see him go elsewhere
Gut feeling, but I think that is what will happen

Yes, there is that
…the Rick Smith factor. But you know what? You might think that even Rick Smith gets tired of being Rick Smith and maybe this will be the moment when Rick Smith will break out of the Rick Smith envelop and just be crazy. Throw caution to the wind.

If the Texans do somehow get Nnamdi, and that's a humongous if...
I expect Rick Smith to drastically overpay; then maybe he will get fired….
