Thank You, BRB: Madden Tournament Is In The Books

Yesterday's much anticipated inaugural BRB Madden Tournament is in the books, and The Night Owl is your champion. While we encountered some difficulty with the Xbox Live interface, I think we muddled through in solid fashion.

Thanks to all who came out for the event, either in person or via Xbox Live; we probably had about 20 or so people show up at 360 (as always, thanks to Brandon & Co. for hooking us up), with more than half of those who showed up taking a go at playing Madden (including yours truly, who was pantsed by TexansForever). Even if you didn't play, I appreciate everyone who took the time to show up. It's always a lot of fun to put faces with user names, and I look forward to seeing all of you again soon.

How soon? How about a preseason watch party for Texans-49ers on Saturday, August 27th? Anyone interested in that?

And please tip your waitress!, but it was great meeting a ton of people yesterday. Jordann looks like a spitting image of David Carr, chrisd’s finger shadow puppetry was absolutely astounding, and BFT has a really nice hat.

Though AllenOU’s constant drooling on himself was kind of a turn-off.

Well, I proved the 5WR techinique doesn't work on me

I stayed in Dollar & 2 Deep Quarter defenses & alternated between Cover 2 & Man Cover 2 Spy. However, if I had used the Texans in this same situation, I know I would have been torched.

5 wrs and no threat of a running QB

I put my DE’s on a Purple zone.

and i’ll be in Nickel most of the time, i’ll also alternate between, man and zone coverage. having a crossing zone over the middle.

You know the Purple or light blue zone?
if you pull that player all the way across the field (pre-snap) they cover slants perfectly
