I hate to rain on a celebratory mood, but it looks like we're down to half a second wide receiver. I wouldn't expect anything official from the team until tomorrow or Tuesday until they line up another receiver to bring in.

No to Moss and TO

Those shouldn’t even be options.

Have to at least check all options

If it actually came down to Moss or TO

Then TO. But he had surgery on his ACL this offseason so I don’t see that happening.

We’d either bring in somebody (David Anderson perhaps) or activate Maehl and roll with Jacoby at #2 and Bryant at #3.

But wow losing Walter really hurts.

Prediction: 11-5 AFC South champions.

by Ethan Matz on Sep 11, 2011 5:49 PM CDT up reply actions

Let's leave off the two guys who

either don’t care about playing (Moss) or are old, coming off injury, and can’t catch or block to Kubiak’s standards (TO)

Though doesn't Maehl fit the bill too?

And he’s been with the team all pre-season.

He's a bit raw

I like the veteran experience Anderson brings. Plus if god forbid we have anymore injuries in the next 15 games, we can call him up then.

I said the team wouldn't give anything official til Monday or Tuesday

When PFT and La Canfora both tweet about this….I happen to think it’s true though.

It is interesting though cause no one else seemed to think it was a big injury.

Nick Scurfield did say Walter didn't think it was serious.
NickScurfield
Walter said he’s not really worried about the injury but will have to wait and see until tomorrow

Also

NickScurfield
WR Kevin Walter said he injured his right collarbone & will have an MRI tomorrow. Said he’ll be “ready to roll as soon as possible.”

I’ll turn off my panic button for a moment.

Prediction: 11-5 AFC South champions.

Of course all the talk will be about no Manning. I don’t care let them make excuses. I’m ready focused on seeing what the Dolphins look like Monday night.

all Moss can do

is run a go or a post. We need someone who can block and run a decent route.

I have no desire..

To see TO or Moss in a Texan uniform. Both are aging and only put in the effort when they feel like it. Would much rather bring back DA if this turns out to be true. I guess the silver lining would be that he would still be back by the end of the season?

by Mumford on Sep 11, 2011 6:37 PM CDT reply actions

I refuse to believe this team will even look at TO or Moss.

Which to me would be the smartest move to make. They have both lost a lot in the past 2 or 3 seasons. I would rather bring in D.A. or possibly try to make a trade. UUGGHH, I pray this is a false report and he has a strained collarbone or something.

by Kiratomi on Sep 11, 2011 6:47 PM CDT reply actions

But the real question is:

would we rather have DA, TO, Moss or KW for our playoff run?

by Big T33 on Sep 11, 2011 7:03 PM CDT reply actions

I'd take D.A. for now

Maybe mid-season I’d take T.O.

I agree

But maybe the brain trust has a secret plan

then again it may be a bruise

Mario Williams will have 4 sacks and 1 int by Game 4 of the regular season.

by Barryfromtexas on Sep 11, 2011 7:08 PM CDT up reply actions

Kubiak confirmed that Walter is getting an MRI on his collarbone/shoulder tomorrow

Wouldn’t that imply that an X-ray came up negative for a fracture? Or is it “find out how bad that little line on the X-ray is” sort of thing?

by Karsh on Sep 11, 2011 7:38 PM CDT reply actions

Could be either one

I’ve had to get MRI’s on 2 of the stress fractures I’ve had on my left foot, just X-rays on the other 2 times I’ve stress fractured it. I would love an ankle that wasn’t made out of glass.

NO MOSS!!!!!!!!!!

Kubiak would look to bring in a BIG-Veteran receiver…

Kevin Walter is most valuable in the running game… we need another WR who can come in and run/cut block effectively.

by MghtyPtrck on Sep 11, 2011 8:40 PM CDT reply actions

Doesn't bringing in someone

also mean Walter has to be IR’ed? In which case he would be out for the season even if he’s due to miss 10 weeks?

by jkcheng122 on Sep 11, 2011 11:40 PM CDT reply actions

I think you can put him on PUP for 6 weeks or more

Mario Williams will have 4 sacks and 1 int by Game 4 of the regular season.

by Barryfromtexas on Sep 11, 2011 11:41 PM CDT up reply actions

They would have to create a roster spot somewhere

It wouldn’t necessarily have to be by putting Walter on IR though.
